Yes, Golden Sun is an awesome series. My favorite character would have to be Mia, she's pretty cute.

what is your favorite wait before even giving you a chance to answer let me tell you my answer
Golden Sun was decent at best. Y'all need to move on. There are better games out there to play and there will not be a Golden Sun 3 to import your GS2 save into. |

Wow, Squeek, you're totally missing out. GS is the best RGP ever by far, with no competition at all. And my favorite Psynergy in battle is Pure Wish.

Also, GS being the "best RPG ever by far with no competition at all" is just your opinion, and the way I see it, you just haven't played any worthwhile RPGs. I agree with Squeek, the game wasn't what people hype it up to be, and I certainly wouldn't consider it a great RPG. It was ok. |

Re: golden sun(plot, charactors, rumors)
Yeah, so great that after making it, the company swore they'd never make another RPG ever again.
I liked it. Once. Then I beat it and it was over. I had the best weapons in the game and could pretty much 1HKO anything. It took like 50 hours to do that. Then I found Tales of Symphonia, which has 200+ hours clocked on it and while I'm at the max level of 250, I still haven't actually made the characters as good as they can be. Then I found Tales of the Abyss, which has 300+ hours clocked on it and I'm not even REMOTELY close to 100%ing the game or having max-level characters. Worst of all are its fanbase who continue to claim that it's the greatest game in the world. Just like narutards, they won't branch out and find the ACTUAL good stuff. And no, greekanilater, this is not a forum for Golden Sun fans. This is a forum to discuss video games. This is a thread that you created for anyone to discuss Golden Sun. My discussion is that it's overhyped and not nearly as good as most RPGs out there and that you kids who spend 150 hours getting to level 99 need to branch out more and find other games. |

Re: golden sun(plot, charactors, rumors)
Golden Sun = perhaps best handheld RPG although I haven't really played a lot of those (although it's a ****load better than pokemon IMO sorry), definitely not best RPG ever across all consoles.
I thought it was really good when I played it, but I've played better now (*cough* ToS). All comes down to opinion and personal preference though, everyone seems to think their own tastes are correct and factual somehow with games which is rather annoying but w/e

Re: golden sun(plot, charactors, rumors)
Golden Sun is mediocre, but most RPGs are.
The only good handheld ones i've ever played are Mario & Luigi/pokemon. |

Re: golden sun(plot, charactors, rumors)
I agree, Golden Sun did die out on me eventually. The thing that pissed me off the most was the fact that I had to arrange the Dijinn to get to certain places/do certain things, and it took me an ice age to get it right.
@Pumble: About the only things that I don't like about Pokemon are: -Trainers use cheap tricks way too often, such as confusion, infatuation or putting my Pokemon to sleep. -Garchomp, Bronzor and Bronzong. Their double-types make them invulnerable to nearly everything. -They stopped allowing you to visit other regions. |

Re: golden sun(plot, charactors, rumors)
In terms of handhelds RPGs, I agree. Golden Sun is one of the best. If only because there are like 10 handheld RPGs and most of those are Pokemon.
Here's my problem with Golden Sun. You played 100+ hours over two games to do 4 things: light four lighthouses. WAY too much travel time between them. WAY too many annoying side-things to do. WAY boring. Also, it's WAY too easy, and then the final boss is like LOL HAX I ATTACK 19302892038 TIMES PER TURN OH HERE'S MY SKILL THAT PRETTY MUCH KILLS YOU. OH, I DID IT AGAIN. OH, WHAT THE HECK! HERE IT IS AGAIN! Now, Tales of Symphonia. It looks really generic. There are four temples you need to visit, and each one has a seal you need to unlock. That's only like the first quarter of the game though. The game TAKES OFF from there and becomes FANTASTIC. Not to mention the entire game is free from the generic low-tech RPG standard that Final Fantasy needs to get rid of -- turn-based fighting and random encounters do not exist in Tales of Symphonia |

Re: golden sun(plot, charactors, rumors)
Yeah, Golden Sun is a great handheld RPG. I prefer the Tales of series though, like others evidently.
(FFXII is semi turn based, so they're getting there!)
