Before I saw those reviews, I couldn't care less about the game... Now every picture from it that I see is killing me.

Likewise, didn't really even consider purchasing this one until I read / saw the reviews.
Better than Ocarina of Time? Got me hyped.

Holy SHIT.

Yesterday, I forgot to pre-order my special edition copy with the sleek wiimote etc and ended up short. They didn't have any stock left. The lady who came just before me picked it up in pure joy.

I got sad and decided to never play that game in the end, since all I wanted was the special edition. And so I bought it anyway today. $50 is a decent price. And I popped it up with my huge-ass wiimote + wii-motion plus accessory after removing the dust anyway, just to see how it felt.

And it striked me.

This game is every bit as good as the reviewers said it was. They didn't exaggerate at all. Holy shit. Who cares about the golden controller, I'm leaving this community for a while. This game transcends all.

... AND DID YOU LISTEN TO THAT MUSIC CD? JESUS it's one of the best piece of art I've ever listened to.

OH MY GOODNESS, YES. Ugh, man. As soon as the overworld song fro Spirit Tracks played within the first 30 seconds (Which, in my opinion, is one of the best songs from Zelda), it was a pure eargasm.

Better or worse than OOT? Keep in mind this is still new and a lot of the awesomeness will wear off.

I am not far enough to say which one is better, but I have to say that, because I am not very good at finding my way through Ocarina of Time when I play it for what feels like the first time every time, I prefer SS's more linear approach. The dialogues are long and can't be skipped, but they're fun to read.

And the motions - my gosh - exceeded any expectation I had. I have goosebumps when I see link moving his arm at the same time as me. It's stupid and the novelty will sure wear off, but, while I'm 4 hours in the story, it still stays just as priceless.

Dude. At least give the game a rent. It's amazing.

I'll be buying it when I'm done this load of coursework. It's just if it was better than OOT I'd probably end up driving to the store right now not that I already want to. I'm a huge Zelda fanboy (at least the mainline Zelda games)

Nobody can say that a game is better than OOT without being subjective. OOT is a game with such a personal impact on everybody that no one can view the game the same as you.

To you, SS might be better than it, or also a bit more standard, like every other Zelda game. However, I can tell you that SS destroyed every expectation I had and I really recommend you try it out!

I hope this thread isn't too old to bump just so I can express the braingasm-ness of SS.

I can't believe how awesome this thing I am playing is. Sony and Microsoft should be embarrassed to have wasted an entire generation not coming within 1% of this.

Also, SS is definitely objectively BETTER than OoT. Taste only accounts for so much.
