DDR A
Does anyone else have a cabinet nearby? To my understanding they're at most if not all Dave & Buster locations along with Round 1 Arcades.
I just played on one and it's pretty amazing. Video reference about DDR A for funzies:

We're getting one at the R1 in Chicagoland that I used to work at as a mechanic! =) I think it comes in tomorrow.

Re: DDR A
Played this at R1 on Saturday. Some pretty decent charts, which is really surprising considering the rather 'meh' quality for years now. Pads were amazing too :O Now if they would only fix that damn bar then I could actually play it...Guess I'll stick to doubles :P

Re: DDR A
I wish I could play DDR A, too bad Konami stopped making cabinets for europe a while back so it's unlikely i'll be playing it anytime soon
Then again I know some people who imported DDR 2014 before konami shut down programmed world so who knows

Re: DDR A
I got a chance to play this while in Japan and it was awesome. The wide-screen cabinets are amazing, and they've certainly ramped up the choices for more difficult (15+) charts. I think I'm planning to hit up Seattle with a group sometime soon for a DDR A extravaganza, because to my knowledge the most recent version we have in Vancouver is the X3 vs 2nd Mix cabinet.

Re: DDR A
There is some breaking news for those that live in Europe:
There will be a location test for DDR A at the Las Vegas Arcade Soho in London, England. So, if you live near the London, England area, then it is strongly encouraged to go there soon. Will Konami be successful in making DDR an international rhythm Gaming hit for the first time in 6 years?

Re: DDR A
I wish the bars could be adjusted for height. At 6'2", I feel like I always have to hunch over at the most awkward angles just to grip the bar properly. I don't know how the guys even taller than me do it without severe discomfort.

Re: DDR A
I haven't followed it much but why is DDR A receiving so much hype? What is it offering that the others have not?

Re: DDR A
For me personally, it's been quite a while since the last cabinet release in the US. The D&B I go to had an X2 cabinet. Then there's newer songs and charts. Also, I think a main selling point is the eAmusement integration. You can save your scores and they will be part of the global leaderboards.

Re: DDR A
They skipped x2 vs 3rd mix and the x machines were awful. Now we're getting the same treatments as Japan in this regard, just we're also getting eAmuse too. :l

Re: DDR A
Timing algorithm is significantly improved to the point where players are finding the game much more enjoyable as well.

Re: DDR A
So it turns out the location test of DDR A started in the UK today, it's gonna last 12 weeks so thats plenty of time for myself/anyone else to go to London and play it
12 weeks feels like a long time for a location test compared to most other bemani games but I'm not complaining debating going to London next week to play it

Re: DDR A
It's very worth playing the game if you haven't tried it out.
I'm located near quite a few of these machines now - Been just casually playing it about twice a week now if my Achilles don't act up. I really like the E-Amusement cards that can keep track of your highest scores. Last edited by Mahou; 07-24-2016 at 01:59 PM.. |

Next time I play (most likely on Wednesday) I'm definitely going to take a shot (and probably fail) at Over the "Period".

From DDR X2: Anti-Matter Expert (debatable if I can pass this) FIRE FIRE Expert Pierce the Sky Expert Sakura Sunrise Expert MEI Expert (Oni too hard for me right now) Dirty Digital Expert/Oni Posiedon (Kors K Mix) Expert Possession Diffucult/Expert (Lol no for oni) Roppongi Evolved (Any ver) Expert Theory of Eternity Expert VANESSA Expert WH1TE RO5E Expert Valkyrie Dimension Difficult/Expert (I just know i'm gonna be terrible at this) From X3: BRILLIANT 2U: AKBK Mix Expert (This might be removed in the EU ver, it's not in the US version from what I know) Paranoia kskst mix Expert (Same as above) Flower Expert/Challenge (Aka Konami's OP) Go for the Top Expert (Maybe challenge, idk) Revolutionary Addict Expert/Challenge Nephlim Delta Expert Paranoia Revolution Difficult (No chance of passing either expert or oni) Trip Machine Evolution Expert (Looks like a super fun chart) UNBELIEVEABLE (Sparky Remix) Expert Wicked Plastik Expert From DDR 2013: Air Heroes Expert/Challenge (17's are probably my limit) Blew My Mind Expert (Maybe oni, probably too hard for me though) Condor Expert/Challenge Confession Expert/Challenge Elemental Creation Difficult/Expert (Considering this is basically 212 bpm 16ths, I don't know if I have the speed for this) Diamond Night Challenge (Apparently this chart is terrible) GAIA Expert Monkey Buisness Expert/Challenge Somehow you found me Expert/Challenge THE REASON Expert/Challenge Triple Journey Expert (Oni is a bit out of my reach) From DDR 2014: Endorphin Expert AETHER Expert (Very tough) Over the Period Difficult/Expert (This will be really interesting to play, probably gonna have to use a stupid low speed mod though) Plan 8 Expert Prana + Revolutionary Addict Expert Saber Wing (Satellite Silhouette mix) Expert From DDR A Handz up in the Air Expert Not that many songs from DDR A itself im that interested in to be honest So that's 53 charts total, I don't think ill get through all the stuff I want to play in one day and I do plan to go back at least once more over the summer. Luckily the arcade opens at 9am and I'll be there until 4:30 so as long as i get 15+ of those charts done I'll be happy. (obviously ill have to accommodate for others who want to play) Also I know most of these charts are pretty high rated (almost all are 14+) but most of these songs are more interesting rhythmically then the boss songs im used to (I'm kinda limited to the first few max songs on bad pads at my local arcade) so I want to take advantage of using good pads to play hard songs. I did this when I went to go and play ITG earlier in the year also and that worked out pretty well so who knows I also have a few charts to play just to try and PFC them, I have a few songs with 1-3 greats on Supernova that might be PFC'able in DDR A, stuff like 1998, BRILLIANT 2U, Holic etc.
