You do not have the best system if you cant run doom 3 full graphics. There are several pcs that can run it on full that arent the best for sure.

I run Doom 3 with everything turned on.. on the "High Quality" setting at 1024x768 SMOOTH.. I'm running a 2.0ghz DELL with only 256 ram.. The only thing better is "Ultra High Quality" and that isn't that much of a difference at all..

2.0 ghz Dell=What the Hell.
256 ram=Eat a ham. NO WAY you can run D3 at high settings. No fucking way. Lemme guess- it has a GeForce4 in it? Lol.

Kenzya, I have to agree with Tnyhwk on this one. Short of having a couple of Video Arrayed 6800s overclocked through the roof, I don't see how a 2.0 with 256 mb of Ram can run Doom III that well. Especially with settings maxxed. Sorry man, I don't believe it =/

It can, though he probably used that tweak with the cache size
I can run it 800x600 on high with everything enabled on a 1.6 ghz dell with 512 megs of ram. Runs and looks sweet as can be.

hahahahaha.. You guys make me laugh..
You think I'd lie about something so fucking stupid.. as this? Come on, me fibbing about blur was more believable. I actually lol'd .. Thx2u Anti.. Besides that Anti I already put up screenshots of doom 3 on High Quality at 1024x768 in the Doom 3 thread.. So the only thing you can't be sure about is me telling the truth about it running smooth. |

I've got the best computer here, so don't try pulling any 'I can run Doom 3 with everything on' BS because I can't. ANd by the way the X300 is a piece, especially if it's the SE, please tell me it isn't the SE. Actually I think that's a 128mb card anyway. PCIe doesn't matter and niether does DDR2, infact DDR2 is slower than PC3200 in many cases, but I'm sure you know that Squeek. And please tell me you didn;t get the dell speakers either. You got the Klipsch's right? Please say you did.

Yeah, because I really care if any of you think I can run Doom 3 on High quality if I can't. Seriously.. I say it because I can and just to show you don't need "the shit" computer to run it decently.

Any 2 year old computer can run doom 3. Any 1 year old computer can run it at high quality at 800x600. Point was that no one can run the game at its highest settings becasue the hardware isn't out yet. So Squeek can not run every game at its highest settings without difficulty. As for the arrogant comment. You don't have to tell me.

I wish I cared enough to get Doom 3 to prove you wrong.
I'll just wait for Half-Life 2 instead. That should require even more. ~Squeek |

No it definatley won't. It really deosn't matter, and I know I'm not wrong.
If you could beat this... AMD 64 Fx-53 (OC'ed 12.5 x 210 FSB) Zalman 7000Cu Heatsink and Fan X800 XT Platinum Edition (OC'ed 550/1150) Zalman ZM80D-HP Heatpipe 2 GB (512x4) of Corsaiar XMS Extreme in Dual Channel 2 80 GB Seagate SATA HD's in Raid 0 6 fans, but quiet (wanted to go water cooling, but it didn't seem practical) 3DMark2001 - 28,000+ 3DMark2003 - 14,000+ Aquamark - 70,000+ ..then we would have an arguement. Oh and I went on Dell. It seems you have an 8400. It's pretty nice. Not real high end for gaming, but it is of good quality. I assume you did get the dell speakers because they charge alot for the Klipsch's. I can't blame you for that. But I would consider upgrading that video card if you're going to hardcore-game, and if you know what aliasing is, and care about it. But you won't find any PCIe cards for sale at good prices yet. An X600 XT would be sufficient. The X300 SE is like the 9200 of the last generation. That's not too good. The X600 is compared with the 9600. You might want to look into that down the road.

Meh. I still have 410 gigs of storage on this computer alone.
Too bad I've almost used half... Yes, I did buy the Dell speakers. The others were at least $100 more, much like the video card was. At least I bought the Audigy 2. What did you end up shelling out for your system? From the looks of it, it's at least over 2,000. ~Squeek |

Hay guys, i got my computer for 298 dollars LOL and OMG built it myself =O
AMD 2500+ PC2700 or something, 512mb of RAM CDR Drive yay 40 gig HD ABIT NF7-M and a case WOOOO (For all wondering, that was intended to seem gay/retarded.) I really don't get why everyone has to buy the BEST computer so it's ALWAYS high-end. I plan on using my machine for a few years at least. I may not be able to handle DOOM3 so well, but really, does it matter? |

It does if all you ever do on your computer is play games. Would you own a Gamecube that couldn't play newer games?

I built it myself mostly. And without the Zalman Heatsinks and fans and fan controllers it would have cost a couple hundred dollars less, but it was worth it to me. Those Klipsch's are among the best speakers you can buy, behind the 680's in my opinion, but that price was ridiculous. Yeah, they Audigy 2 is a must though. I didn't shell out for the platinum either. The only thing is that some games, like doom 3, don't use the sound card, and instead the CPU is used. Anyways, I would take a nice picture of my setup, but 1) I don't have a digital camera, and 2) I'm moving out to college in a week. So hopefully I can show you a picture once I get things setup there.
