Default Is there any interest for pad files?

One of my best friends hooked me up with a precision dance pad, and I finally got around to building a bar for it. So now I'm back to creating pad files for myself, and if there's any interest for them I'll upload and release them here.

Depends on the difficulty. What range were you thinking of?

Do it anyways, in case you lose them some how.

I'm probably going to give each file full difficulties. But the hardest will depend on what songs I choose to step, so that could range anywhere from a 9 to a 13 or more (ITG rating). I never cared for stamina charts (pure 16th streemz), so I won't be making those.

Yes there is an interest in anything related to stepmania because it's the #1 game.
Not kidding. Because it's a low cost primarily user-created game based on music, art,
computers, and grooviness it holds the top spot.
Especially pad files since it's cooler than playing with the keyboard.

You can release them here, but you'd probably do better over at Zenius-i-Vanisher. Just avoid r21freak.

I used to be a mod there. Left in 2009. I'm not going back, haha

Yeah, I never really released my pad stuff here. I released it all on r21freak, and when I left there in 2009 was also when I just left stepmania entirely. I kind of want to zip all of my old pad files up but 99% of them are ass.

Hey I don't play pad but I do play index. Doing some stuff on rates would be really fun imo especially if you're not doing all that stamina streaming. If we (not me) release more pad/index files it might eventually become cool again so go ahead m8.

I would definitely be up for trying those charts then, along with some of my friends who also play ITG.

my pad is almost 12 years old and I seem to be skill-capped at around ITG difficulty since forever

so are precision pads the best pads out there for higher levels of play?

Well if you've seen some of the stuff beyond the ITG range, yeah I'd say accurate pads are a good idea. Just make sure you can bracket all 4 buttons at once and you should be good.

No. If you want good sensitive pads for harder charts you'll have to go with metal pads/sensors or the upcoming load-cell based pads like StepmaniaX or Impulse Platforms.

For some perspective, I have trouble with 12s on a Precision Dance Pad (also having to play nobar) but on a sensitive metal pad I jump to stamina-based 14s.

Precision pads aren't worth the money, and they're not really good for anything fast, so harder files end up being a pain because you'll get a lot of pad misses.
