Yeah, IF is useful, but not necessary. You can get good results by just keeping it simple, and then you could implement IF later on if you wanted.

And yeah 7.8 is crazy. Lowest I've been is 9.1.

It's not all that complicated, really. I'll summarize it for you.

You would usually eat breakfast, lunch and dinner evenly spread throughout the day. Well, instead of having breakfast, lunch and dinner in the morning, afternoon and evening, you would have them all within a 6-8 hour window. This allows your body to fast and burn fat for the remaining hours of the day (mostly while you sleep).

well, shit.

this pretty much sounds like what I already do. I don't eat anything in the morning -- wake up and bring food to work for lunch then eat dinner when I get home.

A lot of people do it inadvertently. For those who don't it can really kick your ass when you start.

Just keep looking through the numbers, count your calories, do the work, it will pay off. Patience is key.

Come to think of it, I find it strange that FFR has no Fitness forum.

Does the body have any troubles/differences absorbing everything when there's more food in a smaller time frame?

e.g. chicken for lunch, before workout I pretty much inhale eggs/oats/rice/shake, work out, another shake, tuna + veggies for dinner

No. You can apply it to any diet. There are no detrimental effects to your body, as you're still getting all your daily calories and macros. The only difference is you're giving your damn body a break, allowing it to actually burn through what you ate, rather than constantly feeding it throughout the day.

Simply put, I'm not certain. I don't take diet seriously enough right now, as I'm only bulking. I'll most likely look into it more when I'm cutting.

Diet and nutrition is such a wide subject, and it's a lot to cover when learning. I've only just covered the basics.
