This thread title is pretty accurate, because I wouldn't be surprised if Auburn jumps OSU.

Regardless, both will still have conference title games, and neither of those are guaranteed wins. This is going to be a crazy finish to the season.

I would think the strength of victory is calculated as well. For example: Florida State's closest game was 14 @Boston College in Week 4. Ohio State has had four wins by only 10 points or less: Wisconsin, @Northwestern, Iowa, and @Michigan by 1 just last week.

This is in response to why Florida State isn't in the same boat as Ohio State, at least in my opinion.

As for Auburn, to get into this Championship game I honestly think they are going to need OSU or FSU to lose. I understand the SEC is "the best conference in NCAA Football" but still I look at the schedule and strength of victory. One loss by 14 @LSU. 6 games won by less than 10 points: Washington State, Mississippi State, Mississippi, @Texas A&M, Georgia, and Alabama. And 3 non-conference games that were jokes: Arkansas State, Western Carolina, and Florida Atlantic (just like the non-conference games OSU and FSU have).

Yes, the win vs Alabama was huge, and an absolute momentum shifter. But does it garner enough shift to pull a no loss team from the Championship? Probably not. Do I think they are a better team than Ohio State? Absolutely, but that's not how this fucking retarded BCS system works.

Auburn has the SEC's #1 ranked rushing offense, and Missouri has the SEC's #1 rushing defense. Auburn can't into passing the football so this will be an interesting matchup.

Hopefully Michigan State takes care of OSU. Even if its a close OSU win, I could see the computers considering strength of schedule and putting the SEC champion into the game

Exactly this. FSU and OSU have a virtually identical SOS... It's something like OSU's is 64th, while FSU's is 68th. Florida State has bulldozed that schedule, while Ohio State has 'survived' it.

I'm pretty sure Bama had the best rushing defense in the SEC before Auburn wrecked them, but I could be wrong. Regardless, I definitely don't think this game will be a 'gimme' for Auburn, which seems to be the popular opinion in my area. I wouldn't be surprised to see either outcome. Mizzou has been impressive, and their one loss is "better" than Auburn's, coming in double OT to the current #8 team.

It's possible that stat became true after the Alabama/Auburn game, I don't know.

It's also worth noting that Mizzou's loss to SC was without our starting QB. (I was a little happy to see him out for a while because I hate dual threat QBs)
