Default Consortium of Genius gives permission!

We have permission from the Consortium of Genius (www.ConsortiumOfGenius.com) to use some of their songs in FFR.
READ THE POST BELOW THIS ONE FOR UPDATED PERMISSIONS. WE HAVE RIGHTS FOR MORE THEN THESE TWO SONGS NOW.

The first is "Science Party" from the CD 'Free Brains and Dead Bodies'.
It can be obtained at http://www.consortiumofgenius.com/do...ienceParty.mp3

The second is "Placebo!" from the CD 'In C.O.G. We Trust'. I own this album and am currently converting this to a suitable mp3. In the meantime, here is the official music video for it: http://www.consortiumofgenius.com/downloads/placebo.mpg , or on Youtube at http://youtube.com/watch?v=fvtTQV8sqX8 .

These guys are musical geniuses. They are like a mix of Dr. Steel and Weird Al, and mainly perform in a style of music they call "Lab Rock".

Again, this is another group I will offer incentives to be stepped.

If anyone gets any of these songs into the game, I will give them a FFR subscription, or cash. Either one.

I'd do it, but I suck at getting accurate BPM ratings for Rock songs. Unless one of you would be kind enough to do that for me...

The following individuals are proud possessors of C.O.G. CD's:
Weird 'Al' Yankovich
Lee Ving of FEAR
Jello Biafra of The Dead Kennedys
The cast of Mystery Science Theatre 3000
Brak, Zorak, and the gang at Williams St. Animation
The Upper Crust
Mojo Nixon
DEVO
Ben Edlund (creator of The Tick)
GWAR
The Misfits
The Upper Crust
Chris Jericho AKA Moongoose McQueen of FOZZY

I'm working on two of their songs right now, for those interested...

Die Barney Die, and Brain Wrap (Dr. A version).

I'd really like to see Science Party, though.

If anyone wants to collab on this, great. I have a good file for Science PArty that could use tweaking by another member.

Hm. This is pretty good. I'm definitly going to step this after my spring break. Surprised I didn't notice this before.

Probably going to step Blinded by Science, because that song rocks.

EDIT: We aren't allowed to cut these, are we? Blinded by Science is good, but kinda long.

Cuts are allowed as far as I know, but I'd prefer sending them the cut music for their approval, if at all possible. I have contacts with the band members that can give the go-ahead.

Rewards are now active again for anyone who gets one of these songs into the game.

I will give cash or subscriptions to anyone who steps a song and gets it into FFR.

If you want other compensation, feel free to ask.

Bumping, since no one has stepped them yet and quite a few new songs have been added.

I normally wouldn't, but I'm seriously invested in this group.

This is probably already on the permission list but I'm covering my rear since the proof seems to have vanished after the site went down in 09 or 10.

I missed this, but these guys got covered by Wired magazine at some point. CRIMINAL that they aren't in the game yet.

Might be because they are under limited permissions rather than blanket permissions. I've found that people have stayed away from cursed purple text when browsing the permissions thread lol
Is the permission for all of their public songs? Does this imply that there's private content that's off-limits? If not, can probably get that changed to blanket permissions.

Either that, or people more hooked up to speedcore and video game arcade than rock/hip-hop which is a shame, we desperately need more content from those genres in-game.

We have blanket permission but the easiest is the stuff that's publicly available.

I'll consider taking a stab at some of their works
The fact that it's blanket and I'm not limited to specific songs is far more alluring.
