just taking note because it's one of the few things of note that have stuck out to me, but isn't really fitting in my head as a dialogue towards establishing wolfiness vs. towniness tbh

getting a handle on you and hican probably the only two outliers for me this game in terms of straight up meta

dbp is putting up a super hard front and i don't mind keeping my vote sat

Not sure if this helps as I can effectively only refer to the last game from a first person perspective, but, of note: Lightknight forced a KitB by talking about how he would act as a master wolf without that explicitly being named as a role and bonehican seems to be on the same trail re: claiming things not explicitly stated in the rules via means of seemingly(?) aimless town obfuscation (without power roles it's effectively only a distracting tactic, and even in the place of power roles, it could readily get you lynched imo). Following the phase, it got to the point that people would tune him out in chats as white noise. Not a bad tactic if one of them ends up being the wolf, though, honestly; marking oneself as a non-threat through something like that and continuing a reputation of it is nothing if not an interesting tactic, I suppose.

Also fwiw re: last game, DBP did nail me pretty efficiently as wolf that game by analysing my verbal responses, & I'm inclined to put more stock into his judgement and intuition as a result just for accuracy alone. I definitely wouldn't want to get rid of a strong player this early in the game, especially not with both the aforementioned above potentially up for lynch.

maybe its been the years of people joke claiming power roles in setups that dont have power roles that made me tune out jokeclaims, but im unsure how much stock i would put into reading too hard into d0 fakeclaims

as for dbp, to give some more context, ive played mafia extensively with him, both on ffr and in real life, as we were roommates for 2 years in college, and i have a pretty good grip on his personality imo. hes definitely the kind of person who excels at sleuthing and picking out intentions in players. he also despises rolling wolf as hes a very honest guy, like lawful good aligned to a fault lmao

i see dbp filling his in thread space with predictions of the tarot stuff, and it makes me super wary - it reminds me of the generalization tactics that like, horoscopes use to make people go "yeah that fits me exactly wtff". its like, the feigning in game thread presence without actually doing anything that makes me feel like keeping a side eye on him

also i understand the "dont lynch strong players" sentiment, i guess wolves potentially would want to take care of them in the night? but imo thats shoehorning yourself into a bad spot from the start of the game. avoiding judgment on olayers because theyre good at being town, especially in this particular setup becomes dangerous when you consider that theres only 10 of us regardless. not saying that you should mark dbp as a wolf but it seems like youre basing hesitance to push on a plauer because of strength which, again, i think isnt the good
