Default If You Could Change Anything From High School

What would you have done differently?

I think I would have gone to technical school for the first half of the day, and then take regular classes in the afternoon. We were able to do that, but now they don't offer it anymore. I would never have joined softball freshman year either, and since I did, I probably should have stayed the two weeks before quitting, although the first option is way better.

I would make it so you choose every class you take, instead of having required classes. This way, you'll be choosing classes that will help with what you want to do with your life. Not **** like religion, which, imo is useless.

I would change the 4 B's I got.

Other than that, high school was amazing for me. I loved every minute of it.

I completely understand the fact that classes like Geometry, Algebra and Pre-Cal are there to teach us learning skills, but the same thought still lingers over my head every day: "I'm never going to use this **** in real life."

Instead of having programs that are set up by how many credits you require per year (which, in my opinion, doesn't always show intelligence), have something similar to what EnR suggested. The ideal high school registration for me would to do the following:

-List three career areas that you're interested in. I'm personally interested in music/audio, life science, and computer art.
-Take a test that will show what you excel in through the results of the test.

After this is done, students will have classes geared toward your future. This, of course, means that those that are undecided will have to make up their damned minds if the listing and test doesn't do it for them.

I would change the fact that I didn't get forced to change schools all the time.
The fact that I did poorly and I am now almost 19 years old with only 15/30 credits.
( That is how many a grade 10 student should have )
I would have managed my anxiety better.
I would be with my friends more.
I would have attended like I was supposed to.
I would have done my work in class and paid attention.
I would have done my homework as well.
I would have tried by best to get 80's or higher.
I would have graduated in 2007 at the ripe age of 17 like I was supposed to.
I would have then gone onto college like everyone else I grew up with instead of being in my second year of grade 12.

As one that's still in high school, I would've not had my first failure in IB English during the final quarter for junior year. That just wasted my entire academic life, which consisted of straight As. =)

I'm pretty much in Sarah's situation when it comes to caring and doing well. I failed a grade because I didn't care and all I did was screw around.
-I would have payed more attention
-Studied a lot more
-And I would have listend to the people who knew what they were talking about instead of being a stubborn jackass and going off and doing my own thing.

Super Senior!!

I would have taken more Advanced Placement classes instead of just my Senior year. I also would have participated in school events more and taken a third year of Construction Tech class.

My off topic note:

Just to clarify.

I was born December 10th 1989.
I would have been graduating at the age of 17.
( June of 2007 )
I turned 18 December of 2007.
I'll be 19 this December.

How hard is that to comprehend?

On topic: I'm glad I'm not the only one who regrets not their work.

You guys are losers. I squandered my relatively large potential in high school and I don't regret it one bit. I've even squandered it in post secondary and I don't mind it one bit. The idea of "spend a bunch of money on education you should have started working on 4 years ago, then get a high paying job" is flawed. I don't know about how it is where you live, but my sister was just telling me that if she was working as a teacher right now, she'd be making a tiny bit more salary than she makes working fulltime as a bank teller. I hate to get cynical, but it's society's way of keeping you down. Even if you "follow the rules" you'll never get the riches you dream of; it's a pipedream.

I guess I could say I regret not making any stronger connections, though. The only friends I see these days are ones I've known before high school, ones that, ironically, I spent almost 0 time with while at school. One in particular, I really wish I had spent more time with or made a better connection outside of school. I have internetstalked her myspace, and I've been mulling over contacting her, but I'm just too wuss to do it. Incidentally, on a scale of 1~10, how stalkery would it be of me to contact her in this way? Note: I'm not even active on Myspace, so it's not like I could just be like "yeah I stumbled upon it since I'm on there 10 hours a day".

I'll always regret the fact I didn't spend more time on going out / my friends. I played too many mmo's back then.

I definitely regret my work ethic...I would've studied harder so that my GPA would've remained a 4.0 this year (I'm hoping to repair it, but that's another story). I would have also practiced tennis more so that I could get onto varsity...but other than that, in general my high school experience has been decent. Joining drama would be fun, though, as they do a bunch of crazy stuff.

I would have tried to work harder in biology, especially for the first semester. I would maybe have a 4.0 GPA right now, plus greater preparation for the SAT II Bio.

if i could go through high school again, i would be A LOT more outgoing. It's hard for me to be an outgoing person with people that i just met or don't have a strong relationship with.

The only reasons why I can't spend more time with my friends is...

1) I'm usually too busy at the time that my friends want to go.
2) My friends are rude bastards and never tell me that they're going anywhere.

My only times are basically band-related events if you don't include exempted finals.

If I could change anything from high school, I would actually try TONS harder, because I ****ed up my freshman year. That's what I'm going to when school starts but yeah.
