Default My Paint Art

Hi guys. I wasn't sure if I should post this here, seeing that most posts in this forum is for banners...but since the Pixel Art (Paint Only) thread hasn't had a post in over 5 months, I figured I should post this here. I'd like to see what you guys think of my Paint art (I may try and make banners or stuff with Paint).

I have numerous pictures, and I intend to post them gradually, over a period of several days.

Follow this link to see the image "Satanic Temple". http://aycu34.webshots.com/image/387...9217191_rs.jpg

Follow this link to see the image "Combat at 80000 Feet".
http://aycu34.webshots.com/image/419...1311309_rs.jpg

Follow this link to see the image "Lunar Paradise".
http://aycu23.webshots.com/image/415...0160458_rs.jpg

Follow this link to see "Temple".
http://tubeimage.com/files/cedgsl1lw5d22bb5xhfp-NA.jpg

Follow this link to see "Starscape: Beyond Galaxies". It's my first attempt at an outer space picture.
http://aycu20.webshots.com/image/410...5165357_rs.jpg

Follow this link to see "Earth's Horizon". This picture is special, because it was my first attempt at making a gradient (So please don't be too hard on me for this one).
http://aycu08.webshots.com/image/439...9781273_rs.jpg

Note: To see the images in 100% quality, you need to zoom in. They are large images, so you need to zoom in to see their original quality.

Tell me what you think! I'd love to hear you critique my pictures! I'll post more pictures in a bit.

P.S Some of the images make cool backgrounds on a widescreen monitor (Like mine, [It's a 19" monitor, 16:9 ratio]).

P.P.S Sorry the images are blurry, they got saved in JPEG format and it blurred them... >_<

Thanks. Took me over five hours to make. I've had this computer since 2002, and Paint is the only art program that's ever been installed on it. Therefore, I've practiced quite a bit with it. The light effects are something I experimented with in "Temple" a few days ago, and perfected it in that picture. Just an interesting fact.

P.S My avatar was made in Paint as well (You can tell, lol :P).

I like the second one's shading on the blue, other than that, it's alright I guess. I might just post some stuff that I have made in paint..

To be honest, they're pretty bad, no offense. There's no shading and the bodies look sloppy. Try adding shading and sprite pixel-by-pixel.

Here's something that's decent that I made.

Here's something good that someone else made:

They were both made in MSPaint

I've seen that fox image, it's alright.

And for your critique, I'm not offended at all. I asked for an opinion, and I got one. I'm surprised you said that about the bodies, however. I spent about an hour cleaning it up, fixing bulges and indentations, etc. The reason there is no shadow is because the light does not shine on the statues, and they are against the dark wall. I was going for a fair amount of realism in the picture
btw.

P.S I usually spent a lot of time going pixel-by-pixel in my images. It usually takes up anywhere from 1/4 to 3/4 of my time I spend to make images.

P.P.S The last image is amazing.

Yeah. I posted it on my old account somewhere. Here's something else I made 2 years ago:
^Notice the light

^Without the light

See the quality difference?

There's always light and/or darkness in every picture. Where's yours?
Add light and shadow to make the image come alive.

It's not about fixing bulges, it's about making it looks like a body; if you know
what I mean.

It didn't look like it in those pics.

No. This is amazing:

^Was made all in MSPAINT

Keep practicing.

Did you look at my image for more than a few seconds? The light(s) were present below the red windows. The light reflected down and touched a wide range of objects, including the carpet. The floor and carpet glowed red from the light entering the window.

P.S The statues can't have shadows, there is no light touching them. A shadow is simply the absence of light in a brighter background. But if the lighting is equal in the area, there can't be any shadow.

P.P.S Who made that image on the bottom?

FYI, Light and Darkness are everywhere no matter what.

Light spreads.

P.S There's no texture anywhere in your picture. Add some.

P.P.S Look at my avatar. Where's the light-source at? It's in there.

Just take the advice.

This is how your avatar should look like:

There are some mistakes but whatever you get the idea. Feel free to use it. =)

This is how it was before:

FYI: It tooks about 5 minutes.

I appreciate your effort, but I don't like it that much. To me, it looks really grainy...no offense [The texture]. I like pictures with less detail than that..and also it looks like it was stained. :P I am more than capable of producing a lot of texture, but all in all it tends to look ugly...I prefer texture-less pictures because the pure color has more appeal to me. However, in some cases extra texture does look good.

P.S How'd you modify my avatar?

Where? The wings?

I added light.

P.S I just wanted to show you the light, I wasn't trying to make it good, only less crappy. If you want to make amazing sprites like the ones I posted above (not mine) follow my advice.

Crappy by your standards.

Here's something I made awhile back

I could easily replicate that. But I choose not to. I am capable of producing very textured, professional pieces of work in Paint. But I choose not to, because it's my personal preference. Please respect that.

P.S You're staring to sound a tad arrogant...

Okay.. I'm not a great artist. I'm just trying to get you to accept criticism. ^__^

So you'd rather show-off amateur work than professional-work? Show me your capable of producing very textured, professional pieces of work such as the one's I posted from PixelJoint. I respect your personal preference but without proof I won't believe it; the one's you posted are not even decent; again, no offense.

My point is to take my advice. I know what I'm talking about. That is why I posted my old artwork so you can accept my tips; it seemed you kept questioning my advice to you.
