Interest in (User-Run) Tourney
Hi Everyone. As some of you know, I've hosted a few tournaments in the past. It seems like its been awhile since there has been any tournament (official or user-run) so I wanted to gauge the communities interest in having another tournament.
I've put a poll with different tournament "types" to see which type of tourney most people would be interested in. Below are some descriptions: 1) Standard (Elimination): A standard tournament with elimination of players at every round (just like the official tournament). 2) Standard (Cumulative): A standard tournament with cumulative scoring, i.e., play a song each round and the winner is determined by the sum of their raw scores. 3) Rates: A tournament whose premise relies on playing songs on various rates. There are plenty of variations in how this can be done (I've done 2 rate tourneys in the past). 4) Mirror: A tournament whose premise relies on the mirror feature on ffr (e.g. for each round, you have to play a file on mirror and non-mirror and your score for that round is the sum of your mirror and non-mirror scores). 5) Levelrank Fixing: A tournament whose main point is to motivate those that are playing to "clean up their levelranks" by picking files that are close to the bottom of (most) participants levelranks. 6) Other: Let me know if you have another tournament idea you'd like to see executed. Thanks! (Note: This is a thread for discussing tournaments and not a tournament thread itself, so I'm not sure if this thread should be in this forum or the tournament one. A mod is free to move it as they see fit) |
