I nearly cast off the winter season, but I decided to pick this up when it was halfway in and holy crap, I love it. The show is going to be too short though, I hope for a second season.

There are few other entertaining shows this season. Overall a pretty weak season, but you could try black bullet.

There have been more entertaining shows every season for years in comparison in my opinion. So yes.

Black bullet is meh, but so is pretty much everything else. The only one I don't know anything about is Mushishi because it was a season 2.

Sorry to refute your supreme animu knowledge, but fall season has the track of almost ALWAYS being the best season when it comes to budget anime. This year just so happens to be akame ga kill, Psycho pass S2 (omg the cream) and Fate/stay Remake. You really can't get much better than that.

I love it when the creators of an anime take their time out to edit the ED/OP when a character is taken out of the series, whether it's permanent or temporarily.

also Akame ga Kill is this Summer. I think they bumped it earlier if you remember it going to be for Fall (then again your post was on 6/2 so you probably know this already!)

I'm really enjoying this show now actually. The small bouts of comedy are annoying, but the rest of the plot and show are way enough to make up for it.

Looks like it is being adapted. So if it never gets a s2 at least there is that option whenever it manages to catch up.

I'm at ep 5 for now and I've got to say that chess game was retarded as hell. The idea has potential but the direction manages to make it very boring somehow and I can't tell how, I just know this could have been way more enjoyable. Making a game where you break the tacit rules is something that can be really fun to watch, but God forbid it felt as generic as ever and I'm very frustrated.

Fanservice/comedy isn't much funny too, MC's personality is about the only thing in the writing that diametrically pleases me : his aura is frontally, brainlessly alpha and the kid inside me loves it very much!! and some interventions of Shiro are quite nice too.

I'll watch the rest for now, it's deeply average but rather enjoyable (at least, more than Black Bullet and Captain Earth) and I like the colorz, it's very pleasing to watch graphically, there is a quite satisfying ratio of lovely stills per episode <3

There is only 1 more episode though. Once that is over I'll probably read the LN which I wouldn't really consider spoilers since there may never be a season 2 and if there is it will be in forever.
