Re: Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire
Third gen is the only gen of Pokemon games that I've never experienced, so I'm extra excited about this! In addition, I really hope that the game introduces more Mega Evolutions.

Re: Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire
It's probably my favourite generation. At least I had the most fun with it.

I will laugh if they start having mega evolution versions of legendary pokemon.

If they bring back the Factory with Gens 5/6 included I will scream. Going for the color plaque from that nerdy kid in Sinnoh has broken better men than myself.
On the plus side, at least Sharpedo became usable because he had "special" stabs. |

Re: Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire
Oh, they're total remakes btw. There's been some debate over it today but Iwata confirmed that they're remakes.
(Kind of a bummer, I wanted to see some sort of alternate story or something but oh well.) |

Re: Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire
I'm torn on this. Note that I have never played through emerald. (I probably should, but finding a legit copy these days? Please.)
1. This game doesn't actually need a remake. 2. 3rd gen's teams made me really angry at how stupid they were. Even as I kid I was confused. 3. Gardevoir exists because of this generation. (This is a good thing.) 4. Swear to hell if mega latios and latias is a thing just no stop. 5. The elite four had better have TWO rounds. It irked me really bad they didn't originally. 6. If wallace is the champion like in emerald, these games are instantly fucking terrible. He had no place being the champion. We did not need two water bosses. One was just fine. Especially nearly back to back. I fucking hated Wallace anyways. 7. These games did not need a remake. That said I am a pokemon fanboy and will pick it up either way as to at least own one of all the generations. Things I'd like to see that would make me shut the hell up and admit I am full of shit: 1. Two difficulties. Of which I can choose from pregame. I'm talking all trainers are actually competent in some sense. (You know that wonderful feature from BW/2 but improved.) 2. Megas for non legendary only. Legendary are OP as is. 3. Non roaming Latias and Latios 4. Customizable trainers return. (I love this feature.) 5. Return of the proper battle facilities. (Battle maison sucks.) 6. FriendSafari > Great Marsh (or both.) 7. Steven returns as the champion and not Wallace. If this is the only thing I get, I'd be satisfied. 8. Emerald's Islands with Mew, Deoxsys at minimum make a return. (Maybe use the other two for Darkrai and maybe Arceus?) |

Re: Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire
I already made a thread but that don't stop the hype train
if anything I want to see, it's the original difficulty factor remaining the same. Ruby/Sapphire felt way harder than any of the rest of the games. Also secret bases making a strong comeback would be a fucking mazing. |

Re: Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire
My opinion: Gen 3 was trash
Shit story with shit villains. Boring gym setup. Bland Elite Four and the worst offender, fucking Wallace. Shitty map. No zone really stood out to me & way too many water zones. God I hated this gen, the only one I actually felt like I wasted my time playing after I finished. Good thing gen 4 did so much to restore my faith in Pokemon because Ruby/Sapphire almost killed it. They have a lot of turd to polish if this remake is going to even be worth buying out of curiosity, much less actually make it enjoyable.

Re: Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire
Seems like people either hated this gen or loved it, or didn't even play it because they were done at gen 2. if you hate it so much, the leave. c: (jk you can have an opinion, fine) All i know is that i'm excited, this gen was really fun and had a lot of little things to make it more interesting, like the secret bases, the place where you collect ashes to get cool items, being able to grow berry trees and mixing them in the berry blender, etc. I also really enjoyed the variety of landscapes, there were beaches, one of the towns had a hot spring, there was a city with houses built on treetops, and lots of cities surrounded by the sea. Even most of the routes looked really cool and had unique features. It's just little things like this that i really enjoy. This gen is also when double battles were introduced (besides pokemon colosseum i guess lol.) I've been wondering how it will look since it's on the 3DS, and what kind of things they'll add.
But anyways, HYPE Last edited by xMUSICxMASTERx; 05-8-2014 at 09:01 AM.. |

Re: Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire
the sea maps didn't bother me. I mean, I figured since the game described a battle between land and water, that I'd be seeing a lot of both, amirite? The under water diving was one of the coolest things to do in that gen IMO. I dunno why but I'm a sucker for being able to explore areas. It makes the game feel less linear.
edit: also considering their remake of HGSS, the bland gyms will be getting an overhaul (GSC's were far more bland than RSE though, dunno how you can complain). They don't fuck around when they remake. It's going to look good. |

Re: Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire
hyped and had a feeling it was going to happen sooner or later, but I'm probably not getting a 3DS to play this.
3rd gen was my favourite. I've played emerald up until the cartridge battery died so now I no longer experience days/nights or any time based events for that matter rip. over 220 hours racked sick childhood

holy FUCK someone agrees with me hahah now I've said it before, it's still a great game. but compared to the other ones, it doesn't live up. I grew up during the massive hysteric hype of pokemon in the late 90s. When 2nd gen came out, shit was outta control. the map was huge, tons of shit to do, 16 mother fucking badges (yet to see this happen again), a massive amount of nostalgia going through kanto and what I consider to be the best last boss in gaming history, the battle with red. 3rd gen came out and completely disappointed me. did not live up to 2nd gen's monster gameplay. everything felt bland and was stale gameplay coated with trumpets

Re: Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire
Maybe I shouldn't have gone from gen 1 to whatever Pokemon Y is. At least I'll be able to experience all of this stuff for the first time on the 3DS.
I never even played blue and red, I only had yellow. They should really just remake those instead. |
