Re: 8th Official FFR Tournament ~predictions thread~
its not going to happen. that kind of jump has to have already been in his realm of skill before the tourney.
there would be proof of that alex. he has a AAA on a level 54 which is sightread. if he played it before the tourney he should not have even been close to AAAing that. D2 players should find FCing that to be hard.

Re: 8th Official FFR Tournament ~predictions thread~
alex his skill on other songs should show that he is capable of a 4 good run on a song. it wouldn't just be "oh i have 4-0-1-0 on this song but i can't score well while FCing a song of similar diffculty"
sorry i can no long extrapolate on my already elongated response to obvious sand bagging, but this kid has a date he needs to go on. PEACE OUT.

Let me put it this way: I've been in D2 since FFR came back.

I find it funny that people are accusing me of such terms as "sandbagging" and really I just found out what that really meant a few days ago.
Granted, I can't really /prove/ this claim, but yes I do believe that all I did was just skillboosted my way within a short time period. I tried simple things from using a stand-alone player instead of using the browser to increase even at least one frame to typing (or simulating such) fast whenever I go anywhere outside (Yes, attempting to mimic patterns with my hands at school and people looking at me) At this point I really don't care if I get moved to a different division or what but I don't appreciate people giving me such suspicious looks when I did nothing wrong, yet I don't have anything to back myself up fully.

If you go to my lvl ranks and look at my "excessive sex" score I can prove skill boosting can be just that fast.

kmay has probably never played hard pain files on SM so he has no concept of skillboosting that far. Don't be so buttfrustrated because somebody played a lot of hard pain files on SM to get better and you didn't.

Re: 8th Official FFR Tournament ~predictions thread~
I seriously don't think there are any shenanigans going on with .Rarity (and I've been consistently very good at spotting this kind of crap hehe). If any D1-D3 player invests a decent amount of time in playing SM, they're going to reach D4-D6 level at a much more rapid pace than those who don't. As seeing many D1-D3 players don't really bother with SM, I'm really not surprised. And the lone fact that .Rarity doesn't seem to mind being boosted to a higher division should prove that there wasn't any sandbagging taking place.
Furthermore, didn't pmon go from D1 to D6 in a hilariously short amount of time? |

Re: 8th Official FFR Tournament ~predictions thread~
You didn't do anything wrong .Rarity. There's only a fuss because your skillboosting happened outside FFR and your FFR scores didn't reflect it when you were placed.
Also, the scores weren't gotten in 2 weeks. Most were gotten during round 1 and/or at the beginning of round 2. We didn't know anything until Xiz mentioned he AAAd AAA |

Just to clear things up, I personally never said he did anything wrong (just in case some of you thought it was implied), I just said that with his skill level (which he worked his ass off for) puts the rest of his division at a disadvantage. When others skill boosted significantly in a short amount of time early in a tourney they got bumped up to a more fitting environment. I was just surprised no one did anything in terms of moving him up. If they think he's fine there, so be it. Makes no difference to me. Also for those of you saying "it's just a rhythm game, calm down," just because you don't enjoy the game as much as some of the other users doesn't mean we should calm down. Those who enjoy the game, especially tournaments, would like it to be a fair and fun environment. It gives new users a chance to win at something. Imagine if for tournaments there were no divisions....for you, Alex, it wouldn't be too bad but for users like me and many others we would have a 0% of ever winning and that wouldn't be the least bit enjoyable. |

I feel bad. I did not mean to start all this drama. At all. I have nothing against .Rarity
When I saw you posting that score I knew you had D2 in the bag. It's not my place, or call to determine who is in what devision. Besides, even though im whoring out this tourny like no other, I'm still playing for fun haha. EDIT: So watch out .Rarity - You might be way above me skill level, but there is no way in hell im giving you D2 without a fight.

Anyway, about Rarity being bumped or not, we can resume the majority of the argumentation to the definition of sandbagging and skillboosting. There's a thin line between those two and there's no way we can prove without a doubt that Rarity was sandbagging. That said, I do believe someone can skillboost a lot in a span of two weeks. Given that this is an official tourney (and tourney tend to skillboost a lot more than casual play) it's almost normal to see people perform very well on songs you have to play 10-20 times to have a solid score. Am currently updating the OP and will return with some numbers. :3 EDIT : Post 500.
