Re: Regarding missing scores.
As much as everyone can complain about what has happened, I feel particularly terrible for aarrghh.
Every score of his was a booflag (besides some blackflags). I'm pretty sure 99% of his scores were lost.

Re: Regarding missing scores.
Just wanna say I feel like a lot of you are mindblocking all of ffr over this, with the "If I ever get fully warmed up again" mentality. If you liked the game play the game for the game. The populations mostly competitive, but its so so so small these days, can't anyone just play for fun? That's all I've done for 4 years now and throughout that time I improved more than I ever did before it. I learned to play games for the games, and take rankings at face value, if you're playing to enjoy you should be improving anyway likely, so your old stuff hardly matters as you should have a future of new better scores to look at. For those in d7 and high d6 who got wrecked, WE KNOW WHO YOU ARE AND WE RECOGNISE YOUR SKILL, WHAT MORE DO YOU WANT? stop acting like you got boned specifically, everyone with a boo anywhere did And that was about 85-90% of my 75+'s. Did I mention I dont play below 75 so I lost EVERYTHING. But I dont care cause Ill just get better . If you're all salty about the loss of scores, come to MP where we play for the sake of playing with friends, and not to stroke our egos.
Bring on the hate, Im impervious to your pew pews at my unpopular positive way of thinking. |

Re: Regarding missing scores.
well..., I dont take screenshots of every song I play, So bye bye recovery
just look at this stupidity (the first picture doesn't account for FC's that were done after I took that snap, it only exists because I thought it was a coincidence that all the numbers were repeating) Then Now Almost all of the scores that I had that weren't FC's or AAA's had at least 1 boo in them So now all my scores are gone Goodbye FFR I'm just going to play my last few tournaments, and I'm gone

Re: Regarding missing scores.
wow... just... wow.
went from 500 FCs to 157 time to change my signature i mean i know i'll get most of the missing fcs back once the backup is restored, but even so this is somewhere between disheartening and universe-implodingly cataclysmic

Re: Regarding missing scores.
you know that moment where you play such few songs in this game that after all this happened, your average rank actually went up by 200?
this is one of those moments for me. |

just because a player pays attention to their scores and long-term achievements doesn't mean that they don't play for fun, and the fact that people to lump these things as synonymous is nothing short as stupid. with respect to FFR, I was a competitive play during tournament time, and nothing else -- and rightfully so, because it's a tournament where you compete with other players. don't sit here and give the bullshit that people shouldn't care about the stuff that they lost, because I guarantee you that everyone here who lost some scores had some that they likely cannot get back due to various issues that i'm certainly not going to spend time bringing up. if you're not going to make a relevant point, don't make a point at all: it's as simple as that. |

Re: Regarding missing scores.
I just wanted to say that that's not me mindblocking or anything, I literally just don't play much if at all anymore, and it's not because of the site, I just have been doing other stuff. When I do start playing a bit more seriously (if I do - and I want to) I expect to get back to my old skill, but I do have to put the time in, and have a session long enough that I'm warm.

Re: Regarding missing scores.
It's actually this kind of posting that needs to stop entirely. Ironic, huh?
UF's post may have been shit, but come on now. Here's my two cents on the whole situation (from a personal standpoint): I don't care too terribly much that some scores are missing since I keep a pretty broad screenshot history of most good scores I have ever gotten ever (and I didn't lose very much either I don't think). I will not, however, impose that other people should not be angry about this, because each person takes this type of loss a different way and I respect that. The fact is that this type of problem could have been easily avoided by simply backing up the database more often (and the admins know this.. and will from now on do weekly backups). I would imagine that Velocity probably feels terrible about the whole situation, but everyone makes mistakes.

Re: Regarding missing scores.
I dont care about my post quality or much, Im just trying to be a positive voice in a sea of rage. I was the first one to tell Prawn about this, and the first thing I said is "THIS IS BAD PEOPLE ARE GOING TO BE VERY MAD". I've worked with Communities, I've worked with developers, I've seen the silliest of the silly fuckups, and communities being negative and crucifying the people who run this site over 1 oversight that was not every single persons fault, rather than patting them on the back for working so hard to fix this shit is the most counter-productive thing, positive change is being attempted and no one here is paid, shit can and will happen, but look forward, The people who are crucifying staff are why this community will die. You look like such assholes to lurkers who cant get the confidence to post. This is the MOST NEGATIVE COMMUNITY I'VE EVER SEEN. People need to play for fun.

I stop visiting the site for a few days and this happens.
At least it makes some decisions for me.

Re: Regarding missing scores.
so, are the scores in people's replays going to be recorded, or do i need to submit them all somewhere? most of my good scores are in there, so i can send them to whoever i'm supposed to.
