Default Youtube Permissions

So today I uploaded a video where I AAA'd Maelstrom,
the audio was automatically copyright claimed, which i was expecting eventually
Am I actually allowed to keep the original music in the video as it is part of the gameplay, and still collect the view credit myself?
I clearly state in the description that the video should not be used for the audio in place of the original artist, but is a video showing my skill in the game.
And the game itself has the permission to have the song in it.

Can I dispute it in this scenario, to where I can get the view credit, or is it a lost cause...?

You can write a prayer to Jesus in the description, it has no legal standing.

Also, as far as I know, permission to use the song on the site (which I assume we have, since it's here) does not extend to youtube automatically.

Also, what's this "view credit" you're talking about? I was able to watch the video with sound, what's the issue?

EDIT: Oh hey, this looks helpful

Based on personal experience... I'd say it's a lost cause. The 3rd Party Content claims system is so jacked up when it comes to music and trying to dispute it based on the forced options given will lead you nowhere.

When the update came that they would basically use a robot to do the claims, I had about 10 other uploads suddenly flagged with claims, all uploaded before that update.

Me personally, I leave them alone unless it's a strike against my channel.

Trumpet - I think that pans out to if you have a monetized channel. Some content creators are paid based on the number of views they receive per video. If an upload is claimed by a 3rd party, then the creator cannot add those views to their reports.

Just take a look at the section under Content... *sigh*

That's basically the gist of it. Permissions are strictly bound to the FFR platform only. Once you upload audio content elsewhere, it is not covered by the permission*.
* Unless the artist has special conditions not specified by the permission, which Monstercat does, check the link from Trumpet's post, or you could buy a free license here

If it's a Monstercat song, you don't need to pay for a license to avoid a copyright strike. You just need to credit the artist in the description and link the original video on Monstercat's channel. You cannot monetize the video without a license.

I think the real issue with uploading them comes from monetizing. YouTube may or may not give grief over general use but if you're monetizing videos of your FFR gameplay you're in the wrong on that one. The game has permission to use the songs without profit, and that would hypothetically extend to its users profiting off videos of the songs those artists agreed to let us use.

Just my two cents

This is great because we have full Monstercat label permission.
