A Lost Tale [3/10]: In general, the entire file feels offbeat/off-sync and most of the file doesn't really go to much of anything.

Castorpollux [7/10]: This is a pretty fun file. m51-m76 I would've liked to see stream and trills there instead of the jumps.

Metal Crusher [8/10]: I like how the stream goes with the song. I would've liked to see really dense stream throughout the entire file.

Smiling [4/10]: m12-m25 is way overstepped. m92-m94 was the saving grace for this file because it was a nice, fun stream part of the file. The jacks from m9-m11 didn't go to anything.

trumaestro finished the primary judge task for September/October 2016 Set 1. The notes can be seen below; this thread is being moved over to Completed Sets and the results/notes will be updated in the September/October 2016 post. This also concludes the September/October 2016 Regular Batch Period.

[3/10] A Lost Tale {DanJohansen} (M0nkeyz)
-At nearly 4 minutes long, the chart will need to vary a lot or have -something- to keep a player's interest. The song doesn't deliver on that end, and not much would be lost in a deep cut. 123.304 might be a good spot to cut, and step from there to the end. Your choice as to where exactly to do so.
-12.123 Missing piano burst - 2 48ths
-23.214/23.759/26.486/27.032 - missing 8ths to "vocals"
-49.123-66.577 - Stylistically, I think this section could be a lot better with more heavy layering, especially given this is the first big climax in the song. Specifically, hands for the big orchestral hits, and layering in the drums more aggressively.
-54.305 - jump for orchestral hit
-59.555 - ghost note
-60.305 - if you're trying to avoid polyrhythms between the drums and the melody then this note should be removed. Otherwise add in the 16th after and do the same for 60.850
-63.032 - jump for orchestral hit
-76.395 - ghost note, flute just holds
-84.032 - here you step the background strings, but not in the rest of this section. There are a few 32nd flourishes the strings do that would make this section pretty cool, like at 93.305/94.941/98.759.
-96.441 - this jump should be a 32nd roll
-104.214 - jump for string/drum
-103.668-123.304 - See notes for 49.123, second climax
-111.032/119.759 - jump for orchestral hit
-124.941 - I would layer in this string in this section 123.304-136.395 until the drum comes back
-169.123 - The flute is stepped in white notes here, but you didn't have the flute as white notes starting at 66.577. Either change the earlier flute to white or this flute to regular colours for consistency.
-218.828 - ghost note
-219.579 - see 60.305
-231.851 - would make a jump for the chord

Some inconsistencies, some errors, and sheer length hinder this file a lot. Highly recommend a cut as a first step to fixing this chart up.

[8*/10] Castorpollux {sound piercer} (bmah)
-**5.081/10.242/15.202/15.403 - Missing the triangle hit here. Inconsistent considering you have it come in 23.145/25.726/33.468.
-14.556 - the piano is so quiet here it feels like you're stepping the hi-hat instead... Which could work too, just add in 4.234/4.395/9.395/11.169/13.750.
-**16.976 - ghost note
-17.944 - Feel like this syllable hits on the 64th after
-**82.621 - this fill is just 32nds
-**87.943/93.105 - ghost note

File is great overall, with lots of fun climaxes. The very appropriate BPM halving helps to make the chart even more interesting. Touch up the **starred** things for acceptance.

[8.5/10] Metal Crusher {Toby Fox} (juckter1)
-19.831 - ghost note
-21.641/22.676 - missing notes to background. Unless this is just your style to accent the jumps. If so, remove 25.779/29.917
-33.925 - would love to see jacks for the melody here
-49.830 - missing note to background

Chart has fun factor out the wazoo, despite being short. Some minor tweaks would be beneficial but don't detract too much from the file as is.

[5/10] Smiling {Lime} (bmah)
-4.503 - missing note for piano
-6.334 - would love to see the 64th drum roll in here
-13.398 - ghost note
-17.584 - Whyyyy would you put this jack in like that?? I think it'd be cooler if you changed the jack arrow after each hand.
-24.386-34.328 - you stepped the grace notes for the piano at 3.980, and I think you should continue grace notes with the guitar in this section
-24.212/29.793/31.886 - ghost note
-27.177/32.061 - not really a grace note here though…
-27.700 - you don’t step the whistle here, but you do have it as white notes at 38.863. For consistency can probably take out the later whites so you still have the melody clear here
-34.328-45.491 - This section is wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyy harder than the rest of the file. Probably bring the rest of the file up to match this section more.
-44.793 - missing 32nd roll to the drums
-45.491-51.073 - Might as well keep doing 16ths.
-53.863 - Why do the 16ths start so late in this fill? It starts here with the drum.
-56.305 - missing the 24ths synth breakdown here
-72.090 - missing 16th notes to melody
-76.189 - I would put in a jack on the 4ths to fill this section to 77.584, follows the melody too.
-78.282 - missing the piano roll which would be cool. Can probably get away with just having it be 32nds
-89.793/95.375 - missing 32nd synth fill
-93.979 - would like the grace for the synth too
-102.700 - missing drum fade
-103.747 - missing synth breakdown
-105.491 - the effect you're going for would probably work better if the whole hand was white
-117.352 - missing piano roll
-118.049 - probably a nice climax to bring back the 16ths here
-126.241 - see 76.189
-128.863 - missing synth breakdown
-140.026 - missing piano roll
-148.398 - this end stream is a bit inconsistent considering you hadn't started stepping it at 140.375, but it ends the file nicely

The difficulty of this chart is wildly inconsistent, and should generally be a lot higher than what is presented here. Numerous opportunities to increase the difficulty are skipped and appear to be more error than deliberate.
