Re: The World is Flat
big magnet underneath our flat world if you want to think of it that way but really
there is a supermassive black hole at the center of our galaxy -- it is like a giant suction hole and we're far enough away from it to feel gravity but not so close we get sucked in Last edited by Reincarnate; 01-7-2011 at 03:53 PM.. |

part of the confidentiality agreement says that they have to take certified routes pre-programmed to get to their destinations even if nav systems show passengers otherwise. if you kept going you might fall off but nobody ever gets that far because it's just water and so our planes never really get near it because you never need to land a plane near a bunch of water do you |

Re: The World is Flat
The world definitely isn't evenly flat.
And remember most of this planet is covered by water, we don't know what the surface is like underwater. |

Re: The World is Flat
right, most of the land is in the middle and the water goes on and on for miles outside of all that

Re: The World is Flat
if you get too close to the end of the earth, the supermassive blackhole gravity screws with you. when you think you're going forward towards the edge you're really just turning alongside it at a greater velocity due to the effects of relativity.

Re: The World is Flat
I say that just because we haven't determined it with our own perception, it doesn't mean the thruth is something else.
Sorry if I'm not clear. |

Re: The World is Flat
You can say that about anything which doesn't lead us anywhere.
It's like saying: What tells us that every other human being is not in fact a robot programmed to have thoughts that resemble to that of a human. We can't. Last edited by Artic_counter; 01-7-2011 at 04:15 PM.. |

Re: The World is Flat
Have two people stand on different spots on the equator.
Have them walk towards the north pole. (True, not magnetic) If the world was flat, they will never cross paths, because their paths are parallel. But they would cross paths eventually, hence the world is round. Last edited by GummyPowPow; 01-7-2011 at 05:03 PM.. |

let the circle represent a theoretical 2d surface, red = north pole, green = person 1, blue = person 2. you say to both people "go to north pole" so they go. clearly they intersect despite it being a flatland. they don't have to be parallel Last edited by Reincarnate; 01-7-2011 at 05:44 PM.. |
