Virus problem x_x help?
Ok, lately i've been having weird pc problems. SO yea, I got AVG to clear shit up, and it got rid of a bunch of trojans that were on my system.
But theres one it WON"T get rid of. Im not really having any problems atm, but I don't wanna leave this thing on my system. Check the screen shot below. Anybody know how to get rid of this thing?!?! I run avg like it says, and it picks it up and shit, but it won't lock it down/repair ect. ANd nortan doesn't do anything about it either X_X I've tryed going into the folder, and deleting it, which i did like yesterday, but now the damn thing is BACK, and in some folder i can't find. X_X any ideas?

Ouch that sux. I don't know much about virus killing at all, because my Norton has taken care of everything but yeah, I agree with synth, delete your system restore files, and to a registry search on the error by running "regedit" under you windows command. but you shouldn't have to do this if, like synth said, it's just a part of the virus stuck in your regular system backup.

yay its fixed. damn i was bout to go into ultimate computer nerd form and help you. im a computer nerd that can get rid of viruses and sometimes send them myself. dont worry i dont send them occasionally. only when ppl piss me off and then they need my help saying theres a virus on their comp and i just ignore em. but aside from that congrats its gone. luckily it wasnt anything big. i really pity ppl who get viruses that destroy their comp. ^_^

Making the computer beep funny noises is great. As a prank, I put open up a friends PC (it was open for cooling anyways) and pulled out a stick of RAM halfway. So when it started up, it would make funny beeps during the boot.
Scared the crap out of them too.

if that didnt work, then you may need to do a system restore from date, but if you do, be wary, you will lose mostly all flies that you atained after that date, so i suggest you save the files you want to a cd or transfer them to another computer.

I suppose, although this was just a trojan virus, and they aren't structured to code themselved into any critical files. And you wouldn't be able to delete it manually bin XP because it has an ultra user-untrusting safty system that doesn't let you to delete any file classified as critical to system functionings. This XP fundamental programming error has already been exploited by several viruses where people have found out how to encode a system-critical status into a file. But no, a trojan virus can't do that. It simply installs itself into your systems folder and any half assed virus detecting program can find it and have you delete it. The only difference here is she happend to do a system backup while it was on her computer. Delete backup, Problem solved.

Actually alain, trojans are a pain in the ass. You can get them anywhere...they're gay, and my nortan is homo and never picks them up. Thankfully I have avg...
But yea, problem is solved.
