Diablo 3 Hardcore Mode

Played a little more hardcore this evening, beat Butcher and went to Khasim Outpost in act 2, almost got to lvl 20.
As suspected the only time I went under 50% was when I had a like 5 sec lag spike.
Blizzard really needs to fix that shit, because it's not a problem on my end (game was running smoothly until a recent patch, actually)


My goal was to do all of act 1 without taking damage, almost got it. Took 24 damage from activating the Scoundrel event by accident (oops), then made it until a little bit before the spider queen boss before really getting hit a few times. Think I took like 90 or so damage from a spider ambush that I didn't smokescreen in time.
No damage after that until the Jailer area, got hit by a champ pack a few times in there while releasing the prisoners. Then had my bad lag spike on floor 3 before the Butcher and nearly died, no damage on Butcher himself.

Overall, DH survival tools are stupidly overpowered for normal mode lol

True story bro. You can't mess up 1 time if you don't have the gear for it, harsh but it's the game Auction House has more ''accessible'' prices since very few players play it + no real money currency. Sheesh if there were real money in hardcore I'd sell lvl40 rares for fkin 20$ per item.

To prevent monsters from being unintentionally kited into town from other areas of the game, portals have been placed at both ends of the bridge from New Tristram to The Weeping Hollow. Towns have always been intended to be a safe haven from combat, and this change will help keep the denizens of New Tristram safe from the dangers that lurk beyond its walls.

also minimum range on mortar increased. Yessssss. Crafting reworked to not be (as) shitty, reduced prices and material reqs all around.

Hell drops also buffed, which is great

High-end items (items level 61-63) will now drop in all Acts of Inferno and Acts III and IV of Hell difficulty
The new approximate drop rates are as follows:
Hell - Act III and Act IV
iLvl 61: 9%
iLvl 62: 1.9%
iLvl 63: 0%

aaaaaand the long-awaited attack speed nerf

+ Attack Speed bonus values on weapons and armor have been reduced by 50%

Magic Find will no longer be considered when looting objects in the environment such as chests, barrels, vases, pots, and corpses

what? why? obj's always have the worst loot, magic find helped make those actually worthwhile.

Destructible objects no longer have a chance to drop items, and will only have a small chance to drop gold when destroyed

Unique monsters in Hell and Inferno difficulty are no longer guaranteed to drop two Magic items when slain

I haven't read anything on this by Blizzard, but I'm almost 100% certain it's because it's rewarding to people who farm while avoiding monsters. Spawning in an area with a chest nearby, running directly to it, looting everything and then quitting the game without fighting anything, all while wearing all-MF gear, has better yield than actually fighting monsters. This really shouldn't be encouraged in the first place, which is probably why Blizz is nerfing it.

I like to believe the tradeoff is that they don't have any fun but I realize a lot of people play MMO's like a job anyway soooo yeah I can get behind that theory.

I would have preferred that they start spawning mobs or elites more often near chests, possibly. Some other solution that isn't "if it's slightly broken remove it." Not that I think this nerf is a huge change to gameplay, I just liked seeing loot explode out of jars when I nuke them. It looked nice and gave me a reason to care about the little things littered throughout the game which now have no purpose except keeping barb rage up in between fights.

I think my current hero is going to be my last one. The game isn't really as replayable as I had hoped and I'm getting a bit tired of identical maps and layouts every playthrough. I really don't think I can force myself through Act I again, I'd much rather just play nethack or diablo 2.

I'm at level 32 and just starting nightmare, in case anyone would like to join me on my final attempt at level 60.

Hardcore's still hardcore. Don't wait until Blizzard f*cks up the game entirely ^^ Every patch the game gets buggier and less interesting.
