im not sure if you understand how complex it would be to create this system?

think about this, your keyboard, typical input for ffr?

how does one play game boy for example its held in ones hand, typically operated by thumbs...middle and index finger play limited, or no role at all.

to create a hand held system, which isn't actually hand held, would be fairly hard.

Not everybody always has a computer nearby. Road trips, plane trips, waiting for bus, in class (less noticeable lol), in library (so you don't get kicked off the computers), etc. I could think of a few more but I'm not motivated to do so right now.

And then there's the part that it's so dang inconvenient to wait for your computer to turn on and waiting for it to turn off, and carry it around, assuming you've got a laptop. There are also people who don't own laptops and aren't inclined to buy one.

P.S. I didn't mean a hand-held system. For FFR that would be absurd. And I'm well aware of how complicated (and expensive) it would be to actually design it, enough to make it far from worth it for FFR to ever make one, but I didn't intend to go into that in this thread. I was just wondering how much people would pay for one.

"why not just make it like an arcade game kinda thing, and have the 4 buttons and speakers and stuff"

Swear filter evasion could net you a 1-day ban with no warning. Fun times.

The whole concept of a portable FFR "console" is simply ridiculous. Try a portable version of FFR for an already produced handheld.

Thread over.

But seriously, the logistics of it would be crazy. You said it would update automatically with new songs? How would you manage that? The only way I can see would be with Wi-Fi, and, odds are, if you arent near a computer, you arent going to be able to access Wi-Fi, at least not without going out of your way to do so. I could see maybe syncing it like an iPod, but that doesnt do any good now considering both subscriber AND public song releases are rather erractic. You wouldnt know when to update and when not too.

Good idea, bad execution.

This wasn't an Idea. It's a question. "How much would you pay for it?"
But I see where your coming from.

if it was a game for the ds i would pay about 30-70 dollars. leaning towards 50 at the most.

you know about the Wii Ware thingy? what about SiU for that? i would pay for that. or develop a turntable for it. and sell that and the game with songs for say $60 i would pay for that

durr update scores :S get new songs lyke wtf how do haxors?

the basics update issues suggested by some of you, and here is a solution...or at least an idea.

One might assume that the hand held system(if you were going in that direction) would use a similar technology as a cell phone, assume most of you know that new cell phones can go on the interwebs...and update like that.
