Default Re: MOVEZ (OPEN 4 FILES AND READY 2 PARTY)

for all intents and purposes this post is reserved for all reviews i make.

Do You Know Squarepusher (Valor):
Holy shit. I literally do not have a single problem with this chart, like at all. A couple of the 24th bits toward the end are more close to weird color notes but like I like them more as 24ths. Legit like 45 seconds into the file I was in love. Strong accept 8)

45 Rotations (Antronach)
@48.727: I can't hear that 16th in the first [1][4][1] minitrill
@52.000: those are 16ths, but if you're tryin to be ~ExPrEsSiVe~ then i'll allow it lol
@34.545 & 81.455: I can't figure out why the 8th notes are the jumps and not the 4ths here. Again, probably an expressive choice, just need more context

Aside from that, this is a really short and fun MA file. super super fun to play and i'm down with it being in the pack

Thor's Hammer (rparty + Antronach)

BEFORE you get upset about this being yellow lemme explain myself: it's not yellow cuz i didn't like it (loved it), it's yellow b/c i need some context. this is meant to be like an icy file right? like with super expressive rolls and bursts? it plays like one (and tbh it plays very well). just need context on that before i can really pass judgment. Past that:

(challenge) 23.700 etc: what do those 32nds go to?
27.300: those are 24ths i think
39.900: would kinda like to see 24ths here as well
50.700: see above
78.900: the 32nd bursts here & at 79.500 should be put at 79.300 imo
82.700: missing burst again
92.900: pleaaaaaaaaaase change that jump placement so there isn't a 32nd jack right there
94.100: burst

(heavy) 11.300: not seeing why those are 24th gallops
32.900: same here. i think a huge issue is that the file is sliiiiightly off sync from the start. so i know why they're gallops but i think if you fixed the offset you'll find this is just 16th js
50.700: burst
52.300: those are 16ths
66.500: the 24th note jump probably doesn't need to be there
76.900: 24ths that shouldn't be there b/c sync
78.800: see above
84.501: don't rly get that 32nd
i like the file a lot, it's a super fun scoring file that kinda reminds me of ~STEPMANIA FINAL BOSS~ from the first ffrcp, but i kinda want you guys to fix the sync on this and give each of the charts a quick once over before i can fully take it in. of course, again, if this is like an icy-esque chart tell me and i'll fuck off and just put it in lol

Verse IV (Leonid (o: )
o boy i forgot how crAzy your charts got lmfao
as a whole this is a SCK scoring chart, and i can't really find much about it to pick on, BUT the 24ths around 65.714 should look closer to Dhis

either way you said you didn't wanna change this chart because then there'd be two versions floating around and i respect that. i'm gonna say "yes" as of rn but also i'm gonna ask you to dump out a slightly easier chart with less mines and jacks if that's cool with you.
also my hands hurt f u

China Dress (Gundam-Dude (o: )
Right out of the gate, classic Dat Pu file. As always u the real MVP for including easier charts. for all intents and purposes i'm just gonna talk about the Heavy chart though, considering standard is just an easier convert.

overall the flow is great, it plays really really well, and there weren't any glaring issues with it at all !! there were a couple of things i noticed just while playing that i wanna point out though

I'd really like it if you put in that 16th bass kick at 28.544
the 48th gallops at the end own and i'm glad you did them, but i think the one on the 8th note at 106.973 should actually come after the 4th note jump at 107.144

other than that I love the file and it's absolutely gr8

*Drop the Dodongos (Shenjoku)
this file is kinda the exact opposite of what i'm looking for 4 this pack. I can't say if it's good or bad, but there are a lot of choices in terms of note placement (specially wrt usage of hands) that made me really uncomfortable. In general it is also not exactly the fun, hype kinda thing I'm looking for. I appreciate you sending it in though

I Hope You Leave Enough Room For My Fist (Shenjoku)
holy fucking shit this file is sick. this is so so so so much fun to play and it never lets up. song choice is prime too. I had a few issues with jump placement (or lack thereof) and a couple of things i'd like touched up but as a whole this file's sharp, fast, and absolutely killer, and i'd be happy to have it in here.

Technical things:
@35.385: I'd kinda like to see jumps on those 4th notes going to the snares in this section. It feels kinda empty without them imo
@53.113: same as above but for both the 4th and 8th notes, i.e.
(orignal)
(changes i would make)
@79.840: same as above, or at the very least have it stepped as a jack on the [1] column instead of a [3][2][3][1] runningman
@85.294: at first i was worried those 32nds weren't accurate but tbh they are, I just ask that instead of ending the miniburst on the 32nd note you add an 8th note to each one i.e.
@89.931: same as the 35.385
@211.841: same as 53.113

other than all that, which mind u is just nitpicky bullshit, i love this chart. gj

my party (bo en remix) (James May [E] & Leo137 [M])

oh my god oh my god oh my god oh my god oh my god oh my god oh my god i'm in love with this file. both charts are excellent. i was worried at first when it started off slow but this is so fun in every way! i love it. song is great too but ofc it is it's bo en. anyway some quick technical notes.

E:
@34.001: missed a 16th there
@43.376: same
@46.001: same
@51.439: what's that 4th note go to?
@65.689: for lack of a better way of putting it that burst pattern is retarded lmfao. i can still hit it and if you wanna leave it like that, then i'll fuck off, but man that is just an unappealing pattern to hit.
@92.126: 16th
@113.501: 16th
@116.126: just for consistency's sake there should be an 8th note here
@174.064: just a personal opinion but it'd be cool to see some mines in place of the melody you didn't step here!
@210.814: color notes are slightly off but i'll take a page out of hi19's book and say that they actually play better not being 100% anal synced

S:
@92.126: 16th
@126.064 thu 172.564: i literally cannot hear anything that would explain why like 90% of these jumps are here. Like it plays really well, it's really fun to play, but i absolutely cannot hear like a large majority of these jumps.
@173.126: having that 4th so close to the high bpm mine is kinda mean don't u think

otherwise, that's it. i'd like some of those things fixed or explained to me but on the whole this is an awesome file that i absolutely love, and fuck you two for managing to make a 4 minute long file that isn't even that hard but still holds my attention the whole time

+- (rparty)

This file is really, really fun, but there are a lot of technical issues that i have with certain parts of it (a lot of the 24th/32nd rolls are overstepped and certain patterns are irksome at the song's bpm). I'll have technical notes up by sunday, but i want this file in here, i just gotta point out some issues i had

technical shit
21.806: 32nds start here and end on the 16th at 22.049, as opposed to starting at 21.968
23.671: missing 16th
24.049 & 25.373: this is a 24th burst, not 32nd
61.346 & 62.103: the 32nds at these exact timecodes shouldn't be there
62.995: should be 48ths instead of 64ths
63.806 & 65.103 & 66.400 & 68.833 & 70.292 & 71.589: unnecessary 8th notes
64.454 & 65.589 & 67.211 & 69.644 & 70.941 & 72.238: these bursts are actually 48ths, but it's obvious you tried to understep them (good choice), so i'd understep it as 24ths
76.454 & 78.562 & 78. 806 & 79.049: put a jump here just for consistency
87.562: the 16ths to the drums that you have at 87.887 actually goes here
88.211: missing 16th
90.806: see above
91.130: this doesn't really have to be a jack
93.400: missing 16th
101.589: 24ths instead of 32nds
102.562: you could get away with putting another 8th here
103.049: 8th and 16th leading into the jump at 103.211 would be nice
103.779: missing 16th
104.103 & 104.346 & 104.751 & 104.914: remove 16ths here
105.319 & 106.616 & 107.103: those 24ths are just 16ths
107.914:
109.211:
123.565: i'm all for climax theory but if you wanna make that final piano note a burst i'd like to see it as a 4 note 64th instead of a really awkward to hit 5 note 32nd burst.

pedantic shit you can tell me to fuck off about
32.508-42.887: i have absolutely no idea why all the notes to the melody here are jumps. during the section with the hold note it's incredibly awkward to hit, it doesn't play very well at all, and honestly it would make the file flow a lot better if you went back and made any/all notes placed to the melody singular notes. This would allow you to properly layer the kick drums/snares + would let you step the 16ths to the hi-hats during the section with the hold.

89.589: these sections with the long holds and jump notes really just do not flow well. the jumps here are accurate, so no complaints, but i think you'd do well to make that long hold a quick minifreeze so you could free yourself up for some better patterns on the jumps + be able to fully layer the drums without it playing weird

*Arcade (Antronach)

all due respect, the layering in this is baffling, a lot of the jumps don't make sense to me at all, the timing on the synth in the beginning is off at points, it's got a super unnecessary 7 second lead in... and ultimately this kind of files isn't really what i'm looking for. aside from the parts with the jacks this plays like a pad file. i think you could do a lot with this song, but as this file is, i can't take it

Atröpos (rparty)

file's not too long, not too short, right to the point. i have some issues with patterns, specifically the 24th runningman with the c4 hold, but i can't really say anything about this is bad enough for me to say "no" to.

technical shit
0.000: dude the sync on this is way off. first note starts at 0.528. unfortunately I can't give good technical notes until you fix this, because all my timecodes are gonna be off, so fix that sync up and send it over and i'll tell ya what i wanna see fixed. bless.

Black Lair (rparty)

I like a lot about this file, it's fun, but to get it up to what i'm lookin for, here's some notes

technical
23.033: missing 4th + the 8th at 23.833 should be a jump
25.433: the 24th roll ends on this note, it's just a single 16th note at 25.533 after it
30.233: the "putting 192nd/64th gallops on every guitar note" thing here makes sense in terms of Expressiveness, but in actuality the sync on the file is pretty off, and i think if you fixed it (the 4th note hand at the beginning is at 1.646) you'll notice most of them don't need to be there
35.533: 64th roll starting on the 32nd note here
35.933: same here
44.633: i don 't like this hold at all. i mean i don't like a lot of the holds in this file, but this one in particular. it clutters up the patterns, plus you're not consistent with it (the same note happens at 51.033 but that one isn't a hold). either remove this hold or add another one at that time pls
54.433: missing 4th
55.383: missing 32nd
55.933: those are 24ths
59.683: that 32nd (which i assume goes to the guitar) actually happens on the 8th note
60.033: really bad pattern, try to avoid 1 2 3 4 3 or 4 3 2 1 2 patterns with bursts
65.633: again i can't really tell you that it [i]has[i] to be fixed, but the hold usage here makes this section play really awkward. plus there are some notes that should be holds, for consistency (68.533 thru 68.733)
70.233: again, 24th roll ends on this note and there's just one 16th after it
74.133: missing 16th
74.533: see above
74.833: see above
76.833 thru 90.033: the minifreezes in this part are v inconsistent. like it seems you only put them in for half of the sounds they're meant to go to. give this section a quick look for me
105.433: same hold i had a problem with earlier
116.633: again, 24th roll ends on this note and it's just a 16th after
116.833 thru 126.033: to your credit these long holds don't create as many awkward patterns as some of the other ones did, but especially around 121.033, it makes it hard for you to have consistent drum layering (plus the hand notes at 121.433 and 122.033 seem a bit unnecessary)

and then the ending section is just a repeat of things i pointed out problems with earlier so you should know what to do lol

*Crooked Spoons(Shenjoku)

this song is waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too long for what it is. it's not a bad or unfun file, but most of it is just 200bpm 8th notes for almost four minutes. again, it's fun! but it drags on a lot and i'm not pedantic enough to ask you to cut the song and restep it. that's too much effort. also the mp3 is really really really really low quality, please keep an eye on that!

*Devil's Gear (bmah)

hell yes hell yes hell yes hell yes hell yes hell yes hell yes hell yes hell yes hell yes hell yes hell yes hell yes hell yes
this is what i was fucking waiting for
god bless you

How Things Went Wrong (XelNya)

yes yes yes yes, also yes. this file's extremely well crafted and deceptively difficult especially considering the song. i didn't even know goreshit made songs like this! absolutely stellar idm file. got some questions about the jumps but on the whole i adored this. will hit with tech notes later

Prepare To Be Conquered (Shenjoku)

There are a lot of weird issues with the sync of the guitar solor bits, i think the file's slightly offsync, and more importantly, the mp3 used is suuuuuuuuuper low quality. I know that last one seems nitpicky but it's really really important actually. there's a lot about this file that works but there's a lot more that doesn't, imo. Willing to revisit if you'd like to patch it up a bit though.

*my shiFt (James May)
I don't necessarily feel like the song here warrants a full on 3:20min long file. Like don't get me wrong, this is a great file, and i had fun playing it, but the choppy hi-hat rhythms paired with its length and how repetitive the song is just kinda wore me out. If you were to cut this down closer to a 1:30-2:00 length I'd gladly accept it, but I'm not gonna ask that of you.

Shinsekai (moomoo)
This is actually a good file with a lot to offer, but I have some real real serious issues with layering choices (or lack thereof in some parts), specifically some jumps and jacks in this. I'll get more specific when i open this up in ddream, but upfront: good file, fits the mood well, want it in, just need to point out a few things that irked me

*Yunomic Ni Ocha Shite (James May)
dude hell yeah

Milky Factory (Kommi)
chris my boy u done it again
couplea quick notes tho
@12.597: those 16th bass kicks are stepped as jumps toward the end of the file. maybe get those here? unless you're on some climax theory shit
@16.778-21.321: this section has a lot of unstepped hihats (on the 8th notes), which is PROBABLY intentional, but considering some of the hi-hats are stepped it's kinda awkward rhythmically
@64.443: i'd kiiiiiiiinda like to see a 16th here to the lead melody (and throughout the rest of this section) again, if only for tighter rhythms
@112.945: kinda want a jump/hand here for the snare
das it

At The Speed Of Light (boomerangbro10)
I don't really know what to say about this. It's very tough for me.
Plain and simple, I do not want to accept this. The song choice is dimrain, who has been horribly overstepped, the sync is off a pretty decent amount, the patterns are weird and repetitive, the jump placement is really really weird at times, and above all, it's four minutes long. I've said this in a lot of other reviews and I'll continue to say it: there is nothing about this file that warrants being that long. If you'd like to cut it and restep it and send it in again, feel free, but i don't know if i can promise anything

Operation Evolution (boomerangbro10)
This would basically be the same as the review above but with one solid addition: I'm gonna invoke rule #1 here and point out this song has been stepped for 4k not once but TWICE already, and 2 times more if you count pad charts. the thing you did with the 48th gallops around 198.909 is cool though, i like that

Serponge (boomerangbro10)
i reviewed this before you sent in the fixed version so lemme peep that and i'll get right back to u. but just so you know i really liked this one and it had a lot of potential that i wanna see flourish.

Press Start (DarkZtar)
I mean, of course. Fun, fast, complex without being too complex. it's great. i love it. i want to protect it.
notos:
like everyone else has pointed out, sync is a bit off. the first jump note should happen at about 8.800
@63.190: wow i had no notes until the 1min mark. nice job. anyway the sync gets a litttttle weird around this part. you cut the song, right? that or the song's weird. anyway the [123] hand after this 8th note, and all the notes after, for some reason, are all slightly off. should be around 63.441
@63.929: those 24ths are actually 32nds. if you wanna understep them for playability, totally get it, but i have a huuuuge gripe about understepping 32nds as 24ths, or 48ths as 32nds, etc etc. make it a complimentary rhythm -or- make it 32nds imo.
@66.246: ghost note
@73.848: that 12th note should be on the 16th above it
@79.539: maybe make this a jump. up to you
@94.661: sync on the [134] hand here moves up again. weird. anyway that beat should be at about 94.651
@133.005: ghost 32nd
other than that, this is one of the best files we've gotten so far. props

Wheelpower & Go (DarkZtar)
yeah of course rog kneejerk accepts the dicksync guitar solo file right
a lot of this is bullshit, it's super bullshit, but it's the kinda bullshit i like to see. stuff that's a good combination of engaging, fun, hard, and complex. good shit
notez:
offsync is off again. first note happens at about 6.630.
now, unfortunately what that means is you're probably gonna have to go back and resync the guitar parts. I've been in the same situation and it fuckin blows.
but the good news is I have absolutely zero issues or anything to point out with the rest of the file. So take care of that and we're all set!

that's three judges + a side-judge for any pad/index files that might end up comin through.

if we can get one more judge i'll be happy with everything

Might send a file...debating...

Actually...sending two files. I know which one of the two I'm sending, the other is debating in my head.

Sent the fixes for 45 Rotations ( I can hear that miniroll check your hearing) and Thor's Hammer, plus I threw in another file as well as fixed the spelling on 45 rotations' gfx.

While Thor's Hammer was supposed to be a difficult file, I wanted it to be a legit hard simfile, that's why the song was chosen.
