no real deadline as of now, just accepting submissions. Probably will cap at around 30 files or so. Depends on who submissions go.

Can the song be a remix of a 20th century song but made lately?

not really getting the point of this idea. seems like it's going to be mostly limited to metal and jazz as far as music that's actually interesting to step. electronic music didn't really blossom until the 2000s

"interesting to step" is only limited by the stepper

rachmaninov and shostakovich are both in the 1900s just to name two

Youch, I actually take a little offense to this, there is an ENORMOUS library of amazing classical music from the 20th century that would make for good stepping. Again, hard as shit to sync most of this stuff, but that doesn't make it any less steppable

Coincidentally Frank Zappa composed some of the 20th century classical music that might be good to step:

Aphex Twin's first 4 albums are from the 90s, Squarepusher's early stuff is from then too, this statement is ignoring a large amount of relevant music.

And here's a decent early (mostly) electronic album:

You have questioned the value of 20th century compositions by my boy Nikolai Kapustin

This is an unforgivable transgression and I must challenge you to a duel to the death by Stepmania in order to defend his honour

Question, would electro swing be okay?
(it sounds old fashion but has some components that make it an electro song)

Here's the answer most likely:
