The songs are nice this week, Kirby Smash was my fav, excellent steps and file. s.e.b, good js file, no bs rolls. Pink Fluffy to Punk fluffy cool, took my mind off the fact that I had to redo my best on s.e.b. for over an hour. Shade is a great file as well. I like how you stuck your originality in there and gave the song green and white notes, Love when files have that unique trait to them.

No. Shut up. You're being more narrow minded than myself.

And that is actually really hard to do when it comes to simfiles.

I don't think his post was intended as a shot at you... I think he was moreso questioning the rating of 12 on the file. <_<

i would have crapped myself back in the day just starting one handed and then bam there comes the first hand i've ever seen. even playing that file now i struggled with the structure. and that jump to grace note... um...

i just don't think 12s are the proper forum for that kind of stuff. 12s should expose you to very simple JS, jacks, stream. the basics. white/green notes too gimmicky, and hands well... at the worst of times, in 50s +, at the best, high VC/ low FMO. hands are used too much imo, but meh, it is what it is

it deserves the 12 rating, or just around that anyways, i just don't like the structure for a file of that difficulty

oop, my bad. I didn't get that vibe from you, pop

Files in that range really should be quite simplistic and straight forward, I do agree. It goes hand-in-hand with what people like hi19 and Dossar have said again and again: it's not fun for a newbie to have to run into a file that technical that happens to be that easy. I don't mind the file personally, but I definitely can see new players having a harder time with it.

for myself as a d5, i dont mind it too much, i just don't think we should have files like that in the low range.

that aside, i see some problems w/ the chart in itself, but that was for the judges to comment on

I think hands can be introduced well in a file, there was a file two officials ago (I think?), Death March that's a low 20 that people praised for being an easy file with hands. Grace notes, I feel like are a bit more difficult, but they're not so bad once you learn them. In a file as easy as Shade is meant to be, I don't think it works too well.

The main problem about Shade is that it has several grace notes that are stepped a 64th after, and at that speed some of them create jumps. My notes said to make the gallops 48ths instead so there would be no zero frame placements and to fix the grace notes that happened after the sounds occurred.

Best solution: Just make the grace notes jumps. A person playing an instrument may not be hitting two notes exactly, causing that splitting-grace note effect. It's just inappropriate in most slower files.
