I know how to screenshrink StepMania

Since SM isn't a internet page we can't screenshrink it but I have found a way to do it and it's stupid since not many people have think of this trick...

P.S.: You need scissor, Scotch Tape and a black sheet.

Step 1 : Go on stepmania and take the black sheet. Go on any song and put the black sheet on the computer screen. Let some space too see your arrows coming and cut the sheet so it have to shape of the screen.

Step 2: Put scotch Tape Shotch Tape.jpg on the thing that is around the computer screen and on the black sheet at the same time so that the black sheet won't fall.

It would normaly give you that:Computer screen2.JPG

I'm a down scroller so just change the place of the black sheet if your playing the normal way.

Eh, it's a lot easier for Overhead users.. considering you can just minimize the game and drag it below the taskbar.

Nice idea though, I guess. I don't think anyone would wanna screenshrink in SM anyway, though.

Doesn't SM have the perfect setting for speed mods so you don't have to screenshrink?

It do but since SM remove some arrows when we put a song at X3 for example it suck. In my opinion It's better to screencut and have a lot of arrow than have the hole screen with less arrows.

Also, I'm better when there is a screencut 'cause I'm used to it. That's why I preffer Screencutting a page than put some speed mod and for all the reason that was mention in the "How to become better at FFR" (or something like that) thread about the screencutting.

By the way, I put the 1.25 speed mod with my screencut on SM.

and the point of this thread is to show every down scroller how to screencut SM since we can't put the unwanted screen under the task bar.

And then I tell you that Sudden is not enough precise unless I put cMods. That's why I don't use sudden.

It do but since it's a pain in the *** when it's the first time in your life you set cMods I prefer to wait until I'm ready.

When I'm gonna have cMods, I'll put the sudden mod.

By the way, I know there is a post that explain how to do it. It's just that I have more important things to do than understand how to put cMods.

Use a window that's always on top. The task manager, for one.

FFR members screencut to simulate their preferred speed mod on SM. Hell, screencutting has even declined due to the recent speedmods. You don't need to screencut. You don't have to have in the minor inconvenience of taping a piece of paper to your monitor (It wouldn't even cover mine) when you can just take 30 seconds to edit a .txt file.

I'm not using a peice of paper or anything that is on the computer screen now. I found an other way that take like 2 seconds.

Like I said I'm going to work on cMods later.

But I still prefer to screencut. In my opinion it's way better than Speed mod (I don't know about cMods). Maybe because I'm used to it.

You don´t screencut SM cause that is weird. And too much hazzle when you can drag the screen down like Darkbear said, but nobody should screencut SM.

For you downscrollers out there! (I'm one of them)

Simply open the task manager, and if it isn't already on top go to:

Options --> Always on Top

Make sure this is checked, then drag it on top of your stepmania, and click stepmania and play! If you don't want to loose the positioning of your task manager after you finish a song (to check the score) simple uncheck always on top for a second, you could also build a AUTOIT script to do this easily, bringing the task manager on top or under stepmania.

I've choose to be a downscroller 'cause when I first saw my brother play at FFR (yes I played FFR before SM), he was playing downscroll and I decided to play like him. The other reason is that normaly things don't go up they go down. That's called gravity.

I started to play SM like 1 or 2 week ago and I've played for 6 month to FFR so I don't think I'm going to change the way my arrows go.

But anyway, I started to play SM to have better PA on FFR and it's working.
