I've written this as a blog post, but some day I intend to have it published in a collection of essays.

This is about how Wikipedia and others use standards of truth and notability that are too contingent on officiality, which results in a neglect of actual truth and notability.

It's very long -- 6,400 words.

Any constructive feedback is welcome, including corrections of typos or grammar. I can't catch everything.
