Re: 12 year old smarter than Einstein
Umm wow i'm pretty smart if i do say so myself and math i probably my strongest subject but to have his kind of understanding and ability and only age 12 is amazing.I wouldn't be surprised if he his name becomes well know by the time he becomes an adult and comes up with some theories that could change textbooks. I wonder if he ever feels pressured knowing he has many people expecting great things from him? I hope it doesn't become too much for him.

I think I was taking algebra when I was 12. XD
Regardless, I wish him all the best, if only because he's an Aspie like me. |

The more you know throughout life, this is seen in many people with substantially high IQ numbers, or just people who qualify as genius; the unhappier you become. Things become less exciting, and social skills are decreased as well. It seems.. The smarter you are, the less able you are to communicate well.

Re: 12 year old smarter than Einstein
He's gifted with the maturity to be passionate about a subject, and dedicate his young life to it.

Re: 12 year old smarter than Einstein
complete and utter rubbish no one will ever be smarter than einstein just like no band will ever be bigger than the beatles, einstein was and still is so far beyond normal people and he was completely incapable of relating to the common man (salt of the earth) you know he never wore socs? what an idiot!

Re: 12 year old smarter than Einstein
I'm probably the only one here who doesn't give a shit about the age.
I've seen a lot of stories like this (like that 11 year old who graduated college with a degree in Astrophysics) and it's really disappointing to see age mentioned. In a way I'm an SM prodigy but I really couldn't give a crap about the age Then again ageism is just something that's really amused me considering things like this. I have massive respect for Jacob - he has a lot of potential to make the world better, but then again you have those other stories like of Chris McCandless. |

Re: 12 year old smarter than Einstein
^There's a 9 minute video of him explaining integration by parts all by himself, you probably couldn't even do that.

Re: 12 year old smarter than Einstein
I think the absolute best part of this kid is he doesn't have a prick attitude. We see this far too commonly, whether in life or on forums. There are people who know they're good, and stay humble. And there are people who know they're good and put in people's faces excessively. The fact he is so down to earth (probably because his age, teenage years are horrible) is awesome. I could tell by his behavior, and if you watch 7:41 to 7:51 you'll see his casual self shine a little bit. He's definitely a remarkably smart 12 year old, but he's still a kid. I hope that all this attention doesn't get to his head as he gets older, because this world could use more people like him. Smart, practical, and down to earth. I hope he stays like that, and good luck to him.
