MTG Online
For those of you who don't know, MTGO is a program from Wizards of the Coast that connects Magic the Gathering players and allows them play each other, in tournaments, and to buy/sell/trade virtual cards and
I recently hopped into Magic the Gathering Online because I'm going to start practicing drafting and to test some deck brews that I have and will have in the future. I don't know a single other person who plays this and I wasn't sure weather or not to ask in the magic workstation thread but I decided to just make a new one if there actually is some response. I would like to play magic with some of you My id is Cthulhulhulhu http://www.wizards.com/Magic/Digital.../newsandupdate Just 10 bucks for anyone who wants to join |

Re: MTG Online
SUCH A WASTE OF MONEY
Barely any cheaper than paper magic, constant downtime and crashes during even major events. If saying 'fuck you MTGO' is good enough for Kibbler, it's good enough for me. |

Re: MTG Online
This. Almost the same price as physical cards... just get some friends IRL and play paper Magic, more fun and less errors/downtime.

A very small few of my friends will play magic with me and even fewer like it themselves. I'm going to start going to FNM and draft nights at my local shop soon but I'm not that great yet. The online is for practice. I also believe that that program is going to get a lot better here soon as they are changing some mechanics around. I have a ton of paper cards so that's not an issue. Also, MTGO costs like 20 bucks one time to get plenty of cards to brew decks with. The rest can come from winning stuff. Going infinite on MTGO isn't the hardest thing in the world. |

Re: MTG Online
There are several online free ways to play magic. Cockatrice and MTG workstation are the two main ones I know of.
And yeah, MTGO you can win prizes and you -can- eventually go infinite but ONLY if you like sealed and draft. Doing constructed is such a massive pain in the ass to even get started without just having to dump a bunch of cash in ways you can't get back. And if you want to play legacy or EDH, just forget right about it. |

Re: MTG Online
I'm checking out Cockatrice right now, seems like a good way to playtest.
