Re: Devonin's Critical Thinking Tourney Two
I am ashamed of you speed-bonusers. I know for a fact you didn't do the math, lol.
Oh well, tis my own fault I guess. EDIT: Please pick mental challenges that really only have one viable approach to solving. There's the "correct" way to solve this thing and then the totally cheap way to solve this.

Re: Devonin's Critical Thinking Tourney Two
What, I love to solve scrambled words. I mean, if Dev would have picked a random assortment of letters, then that would have been fine and easily screwed the 'lolz unscramble words first ask questions later' mojo, but I also did a quick check by substituting in the numbers, so I knew I wasn't just actually "guessing".

Re: Devonin's Critical Thinking Tourney Two
Eh regardless. The legit way to solve this takes a bit more effort. I was actually really close to finishing this legitimately before realizing how you guys were done so fast, lol.

Re: Devonin's Critical Thinking Tourney Two
When the alternate method of solving is put in on purpose with the intention of rewarding people who thought of it, it is legit.
I find it ironic that our two prime contenders both got bogged down in the math of it, instead of sticking with the "Dev loves his word puzzles" paradigm that was working so well all along. |

Re: Devonin's Critical Thinking Tourney Two
because both of us are math people.... we likely both immediately saw long division problems and thought only of the math. i completely didn't connect that they formed a 10-letter word at all.

Re: Devonin's Critical Thinking Tourney Two
hmm... 680 boos.... I got 691....
Why not make it above AND below 680? That way if you get 681 you get same score as person who got 679...

Because it's harder to keep track when you have to make sure you stop at a certain number.

Re: Devonin's Critical Thinking Tourney Two
Starting either next round or the one after, I'm back in the game. It all depends on whether I get up early on Sunday like I did today.

Re: Devonin's Critical Thinking Tourney Two
Also, jonathan, mind letting me know -which- rounds those submissions are intended to replace?
If they are both for the "Perfects in 8 minutes" I actually need a whole new submission (though using older scores if you still use them) I didn't keep track of what songs for how many perfects someone got, just the number of perfects. IE. I don't actually know much better those are than the ones you are intending to replace. |

Re: Devonin's Critical Thinking Tourney Two
El Update Grande. Complete with newly visible "Scores for everything from every round" so if it seems to you that my scores for you aren't accurate, let me know. I still have ever PM that has been sent to me, though if people just linked me to screenshots over AIM, obviously I don't have those, but I -believe- everything is correct at this point.
The next round is 2:00am EST "Tonight" as in Technically Sunday the 4th, but in 8.5 hours from now. |

It's technically tonight for Tass, and the "in-between" for me.
