Is this steppable? http://www.newgrounds.com/audio/listen/536553

I'm not sure if it would make a really good file if most of the hard parts would be just 200 bpm streams or jumpstreams.

I have found that if your file answers yes to these questions, then it is:

1) Is it a fun song?
2) Does the song go somewhere?
3) Will others enjoy playing/listening to this song?

If you answer yes to these three questions, then go for it!

the fast parts are barely audible and there's no real distinguishing features in the song that would make it memorable so i wouldnt say yes :/

If the mix was different, then perhaps. However, I am not a fan of Midi tracks in game... ya know? It needs that oomph... that flavor... that mmmmm....

Well, that's the 'oomph' that you get after you get thunder-punched in the crotch and vomit profusely. It's different.

Strange, I can hear the fast parts perfectly well.

I don't think it's generic sounding, either, but maybe I'm biased. Whatever...

when the guys are going to be hitting 200bpm stream/jumpstream those sounds will be drowned out (even on high volume) i think..

No, I don't know. Most of the sounds are sampled. What's wrong with the mix?

Am I listening to something completely different? Am I insane?

For the recently deleted posts: we're always trying to feature new artists onto FFR. Regardless of tastes, they should feel welcome to make music for this site. It's a shame that some are being discouraged like this.

Indeed. I'll no longer try to get any other song in the game, you can bet on that.

If someone cares enough to step any of them, that's another story, but I'll stop trying to get noticed in this forum with them.

It would be a lot easier if whoever thinks my posts are "annoying" would just TELL me that instead of pretending I don't exist (we would be avoiding this extremely awkward situation). Nobody had said anything until now, and I never ASKED anyone to step anything, I was just trying to see if anyone would be interested.

zaevod my advice to u is simply be less annoying with your posts, you spam for ppl to step your songs and then get frustrated when one of your posts get ignored. keep working at the music obv but the way your coming off is way too annoying idc if this post gets deleted when bmah has no context whatsoever
Oh, so you think I lack context? I consider context all the time as a moderator - I don't blindly delete things. Give Zaevod some encouragement and constructive feedback on his music or at the very least, don't send him off like that. If you have an issue with him, then craft your words carefully instead of saying he's "annoying as fk". Otherwise, I can show you the exit.

Whether you show your agreement or displeasure to someone, communicate it less bluntly, please.

If I am the only one who thinks this, then I am wrong. (Looking for other's opinions please) but it feels muffled to me, due to the mix.
I'm no expert, but it's a bit hard in that song to tell what's the main focus, if that makes sense.

(No you are not insane haha)

Like, I remember your "Path Through Infinity" song. You can tell what's on top, whats on bottom and what's in between. I really like it. It goes somewhere, it's fun, and can make a sexy chart. That (in my eyes) has the strongest potential.

Thanks, and I'm sorry if I annoyed anyone. I really wanted to be known for a good reason, here, but I was probably trying too hard.

Well if it helps I didn't find it annoying. Your heart is in the right place, but others didn't see it that way I guess. :\

I had a similar case when someone under the band name Red Blank bugged me to step his songs. It was quite annoying, albeit goes with the belief of "persistency for publicity". I eventually took the case through PMs and stepped one of his files. It's better to keep those things in the background.

Zaevod, I know you do this already, but hang around the Musicians' Jungle Gym for a bit longer and get some feedback there. Also, if you're getting no attention, kindly PM someone and ask. It's not the best idea to get the conversation going in the wrong forums.

Bugging people to step your music is a surefire way to annoy all the stepartists and/or get a really crappy half-assed file for your song rejected then forgotten about.

If it's worth stepping, someone WILL step it. Good music stands on its own merits.

Just talking to Red Blank you can tell he's pretty pretentious so this isn't surprising.

Not sure if you're implying I did that, but as I've already said, I didn't ask anyone to step anything. If you honestly think ALL my songs are horrible and unworthy of stepping, just say it. I posted here often to see if anyone would be interested, and when there were no answers I assumed that people didn't listen or just overlooked my posts, so I tried more times. If anyone had said earlier for me to stop doing that because it was annoying, I WOULD have stopped.

And I already said I'll no longer do that, so there's no need to say anything else on the subject.
