Re: BlackWebb Wishlist [Vote Now!]
I can just envision all the arguing and accusing that is going to happen over that when one person ruins the run for the other person as well

Re: BlackWebb Wishlist [Vote Now!]
I voted for holds.
Reason: Most people on this site, at least the guys who I started playing with, have gotten to be very good at this game. Holds add additional difficulty and would be a bit more of a challenge, making the game fun again. For the people who wanted the uber multiplayer option, think of this. The game lags pretty bad as it is. If you throw in a party room, the lag will be extreme, and for a lot of players, the game will be unplayable rendering the party multiplayer function useless.

i hope you realize this group of "good people" you speak of is made up of probably less than 150 people which is less than 0.01% of the entire member count

Re: BlackWebb Wishlist [Vote Now!]
Regardless, holds are an addition even newbies want. Added difficulty is just one positive aspect...the other big plus is mainly representing a song in a different way.

Re: BlackWebb Wishlist [Vote Now!]
ACC: Marv/Perf/Good/Avg/Miss/Boo : Yes. It would be interesting to be able to have AAAAs as well as AAAs. Anyone who says otherwise pretty much doesn't want to have to go and do them again. lol
DIFF: Single Difficulty per Song (Absolute!) : Eww, I wouldn't want to have to play more than one version of a song to AAAA/AAA every song on FFR. ARR: 4 Arrows Only : Solo is annoying. Keep it on SM only. MULT: 2 or MORE Player Multiplayer : Quite interested to see how this could work out. Do it fo'sho MINES - You must give a very good reason below! : I already keep them off on SM, I don't want to deal with them on FFR. But if they were optional I would be okay with that too. HOLDS - You must give a very good reason below! : See above. |

Re: BlackWebb Wishlist [Vote Now!]
But, only having 4 keys, no hold/no mines is what makes the files on ffr so special. It persuades the step artist into thinking that, if you want this chart in the game you'll have to look at the song a different way. And it's wonderful to see something different from an sm file; it's creative. What these files on ffr say to me is, "I was made for ffr".

Re: BlackWebb Wishlist [Vote Now!]
idk, I find that pretty backwards
For me, it's combo, noteskin, and songs amongst other things that define FFR. The lack of holds is something I would've liked long time ago. I guess it's become in my eyes the "unwanted" part of FFR's identity - FFR being without these things. @below: exactly, if holds existed back then, Crowdpleaser wouldn't have that asstastic trill section and can easily be represented by a hold. Holds are good when used well. Last edited by bmah; 08-2-2011 at 08:06 PM.. |

Re: BlackWebb Wishlist [Vote Now!]
Also, with holds the Jacks on Crowdpleaser and etc. wouldn't make sense/wouldn't be a good idea.

Re: BlackWebb Wishlist [Vote Now!]
Just redesign the ffr layout/colors/ect. We don't need no new features.
except multiplayer upgrade

Re: BlackWebb Wishlist [Vote Now!]
Holds:
I feel that these definitely need to be incorporated. One thing that really frustrates me when making charts for FFR is that I don't have a way to fluidly step notes with proper sustain when that becomes an important element that is modulated in the song. I also would like to go so far as to want the holds to work like they did in o2jam. That is, you get graded on when you press down and you also get graded on when you let up. Using this intelligently gives you a whole extra element that is missing from so many of these games - managing note sustain. It will allow you to actually have to play staccato sections as staccato and legato sections as legato when they appear in a song.

Re: BlackWebb Wishlist [Vote Now!]
It would be a damn shame if people didn't want to go for that. It gives both the player and the charter a whole lot more dynamic in terms of how they play the pieces. The only real problem with it is when the person charting the song abuses it. However, for us that would get stamped out in the judging process.
It's also a unique element that isn't apparent in many other games. A common complaint I hear is that "We shouldn't add X because it makes it just like other game Y", but with regard to this feature, no other DDR knockoff does this. I haven't played DJ Max unfortunately, but oh god did I love it in o2jam.
