To commemorate the launch of the new official StepmaniaOnline website and server, we are launching an official SMOpack. The first of perhaps many over the lifetime of the new SMO.

Near the time of the release of this pack, SMO will take on a sort of average ranking system that will rank people on a set list of simfiles and packs. This will be the first of many things that will take place to create a more competitive SMO. Of course, this pack will be included in those rankings. "SMOpack Season 1" does not mean there will be a pack released every season or three months. That is simply the name of the pack

Guidelines and Rules

All simfile submissions must be sent to smopacks@gmail.com for review. Any submissions to any other location won't be considered

- We will go over each and every file submitted and will either accept it or reject it with a reason posted, as to why it was rejected.
- Please submit unreleased simfiles only
- There is no limit to the number of simfiles you submit. The more, the better
- Each simfile will ultimately have a minimum of two charts. One for keyboard, and a lesser difficulty chart in the ITG 9 - 11 range. More charts are certainly welcome

- If you do not submit a simfile with multiple charts, it is no big deal. If it is accepted, we will have someone make any additional charts and they will be included in the final product. Crediting for this will be a combination of cdtitles between the people who contributed to the simfile. Similar to KBMP1.5 for those who know it.

We'll list all of the submitted and accepted files in the post following this one, so you guys can see what you're in for once the project finishes.



What to include:

When emailing your file, title the email "Simfile Name (Username)" or something like that. Your username needs to be somewhere in the email so we know who submitted it.


Graphics... its so much easier if you could just get graphics FIRST then submit, but I think we can find some people to make graphics for you if you don't have any. This will prolong the release of the pack though. Try and help us out and get graphics first.

cdtitle is another one you need. If there is no cdtitle for a submission, we will make one. But again, try to include one yourself.


Know that if you submit a file, it is subject to receive necessary changes by you or the judges to make it a better simfile. Do not be upset if the EXACT chart you submitted isn't what is released with the pack. We will not completely overhaul a chart but we might make some minor changes

Just don't submit to it if you don't like it. It will probably be in the works for quite awhile. I wouldn't expect this to be done for a few months.

This has no relation to the other packs I've done. It's a new project for something that will go into a stepmania ranking system for SMO. If you want to be part of it, fine, if not, I certainly don't care.

The only project you started and released yourself is red fraction pack. everything else we've picked up your slack and released it for you. Remember dark chancellors pack how mad as fuck you got when jx finished it for you? haha. Same thing happened with Xoon 5.

If you want to run a project that's fine, but given your history, I'm pretty doubtful it'll go anywhere unless someone else takes over for you again.

I really only took a rest after 90% of the packs were done and we were mostly in the graphics waiting phase, where a few additional files get added while we were waiting for graphics. Though some things got past me in DCP and some retarded files were put in. I think one of them was during some school bullshit but that was 2008 and 2010 and I can't remember exactly

Sure I can take credit or blame for not being there 100% of the time and that's fine. Not many people can argue that the packs I at least started and administrated for the majority of the time didn't turn out to be good packs.

Let's say I do stop caring 80 or 90% in once again. It's still on a track to be a well received pack. I do understand that there are plenty of packs going on right now, and its not the perfect time to do something like this, but whatever. I was asked to do it, and it'll give me something to do for a while. Better start it now rather than in 3 months when there are 7 more packs in the works

There is a unique upside to this one as it will be used in a ranking system on SMO and other packs that are being made right now won't be

There's always drama in simfile packs. Someone is always going to be that person that says there are too many packs going on right now or whatever.

It's been that way for years with more projects than just mine

If you get to the near end of the pack and still need some of the lower "ITG"-esque files, let me know and I'll help out with that.

Don't feel like doing keyboard charts for this simply because I'm terrible at finding music and pretty much have just given up trying to make charts for SM since all I'm good for is restepping anyway.
