Re: Prochat occupies 100% CPU usage
Try disabling your adblock if you have one. I just remembered I once had an Adblock on Firefox on Linux and it raped my CPU on half of everything with flash until I figured it out.

Re: Prochat occupies 100% CPU usage
If all else fails I've had this problem with Linux forever, and Mac these days even runs on the Linux kernel. Flash is complicated as **** and Adobe is going to spend most their time on the OS with the larger market share. As updates come out sometimes things get better and sometimes some flashes just honestly don't work all together, but you might have to grin and bear it like me or go on Windows if you want to do anything flash intensive. Not saying this is the problem, just saying it's likely there's no problem at all at least you can help.

I wonder what in my profile caused so much lag.. Profile background maybe? By the way, this problem didn't happen in my profile before the last fix for ampersand bug. |

Re: Prochat occupies 100% CPU usage
I'd say it's the "I'm Online" animations more so than the background. The background is static, uses next to no CPU usage when loaded. Try turning your friends list off so you only have 2 flash animations running.

Re: Prochat occupies 100% CPU usage
The way flash works is:
It loads the plugin for each flash embed, and overlayed in the window. When multiple items are loaded, flash loads the plugin for each instance causing a lot of over head. Even windows has this problem but because Flash is better designed for Windows compared to Mac, this isn't much of a issue. Firefox in recent build has started loading plugins in a external process separate from Firefox to reduce heave loads from Firefox itself that could cause it to freeze. In the external process, if the plugin crashes (flash) or high CPU usage, it won't affect the browser. |

Re: Prochat occupies 100% CPU usage
What the hell, prochat doesn't lag at all any more. The version is still 2.8.5, and I didn't change anything on my side, either.
