I'm thinking of making "Let's Play"s..

And I'm going to make a youtube account for it. I'd like to know what game you think I should do first, and what my Youtube account name should be.

My friend told me to make one of Zelda: Wind Waker, and to make my name "youradoptedson". What would you guys want?

Off the top of my head list of games I have at the moment (not many)

(underlined means it's one of my top picks at the moment.)

GC:Tales of Symphonia (I intend on doing this one eventually)

Well uh, I don't have many games that are let's play worthy, but I'll list them later. For now I need to go places.

A few pieces of advice I'd like to pass on after seeing some good and bad LPs:

-Pick a game you're comfortable with and that you're sure you can run in conjunction with your recording device. ClementJ642 commented when doing his LP of Megaman X5 that the flashy background of the final stage made recording difficult for him. Some people like to have deaths included in the video, others want to be impressed with speed or no-hit runs. Decide your target audience, then pick your game accordingly.

-If you can handle audio and video recording at the same time, lucky you, but I would imagine you're better off recording the video first and then layering the audio tracks in a movie-maker program afterward. If nothing else, there's less system lag, but it's also useful if you want to insert alternate music for certain scenes or if you want to, for example, explain how to get past That One Boss.

-Everyone loves a good fit of pique (see: Proton Jon), but try not to let it get out of hand. Another reason to do the video first and the audio later, especially if you're the sort that yells at the screen a lot. This gives you time to organize your thoughts.

I'm probably going to do Video first, audio later. I'll still try to make it sound a bit like it's my first time seeing it, to make it more exciting/interesting.

EDIT: In choosing a game to do first, it'll most likely be Supermario sunshine, Tales of Symphonia1/2, or a Zelda game, though I really want to hear what people think. (The list I have up atm is not all my games, just a good portion of them.

Seriously, though, LPs are a waste of time, especially LPs of RPGs. I say just scrap all those suggestions from your friends, they'd be incredibly boring to watch. How about a Wario Ware LP? If those videos are all about your reactions, those games sure are the way to go to please your audience in my opinion. I Wanna Be The Guy is pretty solid material too for LPs, if you ask me!

You should stick to Wii Fit, though. Clever suggestion!

nothing would turn me off from watching an LP more than listening to canned, fake reactions of everything that's being recorded. :\

You have to decide whether you're going to do a talkthrough or video commentary
a prime example of a talkthrough being what the Yogscast or chuggaaconroy do. record audio and vid as you go, filming your reactions - which is much more appealing imo. video commentary being like SeaNanners.

You need to realize that I'm still not completely sure I'm going to do this/not sure how I'm going to do this. I didn't even think about Chuggaaconroy (my favorite) for some reason. But yea, I think I'd rather go with that.

The annoying part is that games are like 5-10 hours long and you can only make 15 minute youtube videos. There is going to be a hundred parts to it and trying to talk for 5 hours is kind of annoying.

Assassin's Creed LP's aren't fun to watch. The game itself sorta isn't really. I can only play about an hour at a time.
