Default "Before and After" Thread

I've made this thread purely for the purpose of other players that are trying to improve their performance, but then have files with some parts that make them stuck/blocked. I'm not the only one giving tips here, either. You guys are more than welcome to share any ideas you have as well!

I personally will not be posting any of my scores in this thread. I care more about improvement in other players.

So basically I have three simple questions:
- Do these parts feel different after being shown some ways to break down patterns?
- What kind of score do you get before and after applying tips?
- Is it possible for you to approach the sections another way if these tips don't work for you?

Song requests are fine, and I don't want to be the only one giving tips. My playing style isn't a "one fits all" situation, and I completely understand this - so it's also good for others to give input.

Death Piano

Isolation engine link: http://etylukah.zxq.net/hakulyte_Engine.swf

The isolations I show in the video are:
  1. DP - Dualjacks
  2. DP - Trills (Basically this is 24th trills with jumps on the 48ths)
  3. DP - Jumpglut 1
  4. DP - Jumpglut 2
  5. DP - Megatrill

There is also a "Glut2 and megatrill" isolation which combines the final jumpglut anchor section with the 32nd trill/48th transition.

This video gives some general tips on how you can do the hardest sections of this file better. Also, I was a retard at saying pseudojumps, I meant pseudogallops.

I also have an SDG run (rather messy however) which gives you an idea on how you can position in the file, and also enhance the points I'm making.

Of course, what I have in my tips may not work for you depending on certain factors. It's probably unrealistic if you really just don't have the stamina, jack control, etc. for example. But it may give you a better idea on how to approach the sections.

Specifically, I'd also like to address samurai7694's replay and give my tips on how to do better:

In the long 12th jack section like I mentioned in the video, the jacks are actually much faster than they appear. Here, it looks like you lag behind often.

http://i948.photobucket.com/albums/a...is/luisdp2.png

This part does have a luck factor to it, but you seem to be hitting rather late. For me I hit a little earlier -- either way this part sucks.
http://i948.photobucket.com/albums/a...is/luisdp3.png

You misread this burst. If you want to hit jumps on it, do [14][23] instead of [34][12].
http://i948.photobucket.com/albums/a...is/luisdp4.png

It's better to hit this part as [12][34] instead of [134]2. It also looks like you're lagging behind again (hitting late)
http://i948.photobucket.com/albums/a...is/luisdp5.png

You seem to be hitting a little too late here, but the one handed sections are understandable.
http://i948.photobucket.com/albums/a...is/luisdp6.png

You actually started good in the speedup, but then the 2 frame minijack came....
http://i948.photobucket.com/albums/a...is/luisdp7.png

....and it ****ed up your transitioning. This is the 2 frame minijack I'm referring to in the video -- it really makes a big difference. Hit it fast and earlier, it's an important transition.
http://i948.photobucket.com/albums/a...is/luisdp8.png

Think of these 48th miniwalls as Rage Template's 48th miniwall speed. It looks like you're going too slow on the jumptrilling here.
http://i948.photobucket.com/albums/a...is/luisdp9.png

This is indeed a horribly left hand biased glut section. It looks like you're trying to hit straight 16th rhythms, which causes huge transitioning problems. Hit it more like pseudogallops and it'll give a better chance of not ending up in a mess like this
http://i948.photobucket.com/albums/a...s/luisdp10.png

You did a good job on the jumps before, but then you tried BSing it as jumps, which makes the part a lot harder than it actually is. My video shows that the right side is literally just one big one handed trill, and you can focus on hitting the other side. It's certain jumps that will cause avrushing here, but if you nail them, you can transition more smoothly into the 32nds.
http://i948.photobucket.com/albums/a...s/luisdp11.png

Not much you can do here if you can't vibrate that part, but I think starting a little earlier on your left hand may help. It's not nearly as bad as the right side.
http://i948.photobucket.com/albums/a...s/luisdp12.png

With these in mind, with that 70 good run, realistically 20-30 goods could be removed by approaching the parts better. My challenge for 50g or less on DP (no FC needed) is still up.

More to come later! Feel free to ask for requests.

If this thread gets enough interest, I'll probably put more demonstration videos about the advice given in my other thread.

Exactly what are you going to do, give tips on ways to improve the score by looking at the frame-by-frame replays?
If so,
