I'm thankful some of the peoples in stream last night were offering tips on better optimal results for doing this, one of which is actually sleeping until server switch and starting with a full tank of gas I know I said I was going for it but I do think the best to do is above and also I do want to see how close someone can get to 2Bil. When the legit run happens (probably in a week or so) I'll be streaming the entire thing and hosting some music because VBB can get maddening

Re: I'm onto you, Zenith.
Also big ups to those who were there last night
When you just mess around and try it on your own you wind up stopping because you're bored, too tedious, etc but with people it's like "nah mang ur're immortal" and it just hypes you up to see the end I am definitely going to try this like next weekend or so

Re: I'm onto you, Zenith.
Well here are a few tips I can think of if you seriously want to do 1.8 or higher:
1. Have food that you can easily eat with one hand and when you do eat it, mash points with your other hand. 2. Play vRofl's intro when you can constantly combo it (sounds silly but lemme tell you, after 1Bil your hands will most likely be fucked and your consistency will drop). 3. If you sleep right before server reset, make sure to wake up at least 30 minutes or even 1 full hour before go so you can maybe stretch arms/hands and warm up, preventing injuries. 4. Make damn sure you wont be interrupted for silly things. 5. Glhf |

Re: I'm onto you, Zenith.
Vrofl intro is just exhausting to do even though it is apparently faster than 850 autofail VBB.
Also even though the difference isn't much but legitly PA'ing one of those is better than mashing for GT gains (like 100 VBB AAAs > 150 mashed Vrofl intros) Yeah, I took like four breaks, one being extended due to my hand, and I was playing music in the stream so I do take a quick momentary break to change it up. Thank you for this though, I'll take any tips

Re: I'm onto you, Zenith.
One huge tip i can give you that helped me out was keeping your hands in warm-semi hot water. Just a short 2 minute break or so to do that. They'll feel like new for a little bit before you're in agony again lol.

Re: I'm onto you, Zenith.
youll probably do better in the long run if you try to use virtually no energy hitting the keys, even if it results in worse pa early on, the stamina saved will really help you later

Stocking up snacks and clearing your schedule can be key as well. Even with good PA, depending on song choice you're there for at least 18-20 hours.

During last nights little pseudo-run I didn't have any of that and it was debilitating Might also switch to 300-400p autofail Vrofl intro because that is somewhat faster but more stamina draining I will also be streaming the entire thing once the day comes

Re: I'm onto you, Zenith.
when I did it, I woke up just before the server time reset. I had a few snacks ready and at the time I was actually home with my parents too so I notified them of what I was doing. blocked off that entire day a week in advance. I think I even cut some of my work hours wow
I had a twitch stream the whole time and that really helped. I managed to get to 1 bil in around 15 and a half hours. I decided to take a nap for a little while after that because my forearms hurt so much~ I woke up maybe with 3 hours left and just got a bunch more points because why not. My strategy was mostly mashing eighth note quads on vbb to any music I could stand listening too, autofail one miss, offset so notes began immediately. I would switch to nyan cat or needneedneed sometimes too. at first I took a short break every 2 hours or so, but then that quickly become every hour or so for a few minute. Not sure if I'd ever give it another try. I'm not nearly conditioned to do it again like I was back when I tried. when i finished, I couldn't play FFR normally for 3 days. I just...didn't have the ability to read notes and press the keys at all anymore hahah. Last edited by Jtehanonymous; 01-6-2016 at 05:01 PM.. |

Re: I'm onto you, Zenith.
I find it hard to believe exactly how much damage & devastating attempting something like this could be for someone, considering I have never tried it, and if someone didn't care that much, they could definitely break the leaderboards by just quadholding the first 2 densejs sections in Serious Shit

I did do 700p autofail Serious Shit last night to see but I didn't know how exactly the time worked (like if it was faster) but ultimately the challenge here is your arms not falling off vrofl is a bit of a struggle for me to pull off consistently but I can AAA VBB 850p autofail frequently enough that the GT is probably better off just using it.
