Default 2010 Midterm Elections: Goddamnit

GOP just freaking rocked the House -- Democrats expected to keep the Senate, however.

Also -- how the Tea Party has gained so much momentum is just freaking beyond me -- such a blatantly racist and unintelligent group. Don't even get me started on Palin.

Sometimes I seriously lose faith in this country's ability to make intelligent decisions.

Yeah I'm a little bit surprised by some of those numbers.

Okay let's be honest I'm ****ing appalled by these numbers. Sharron Angle and Christine O'Donnell both took about %40 or above. TWO OUT OF FIVE people believe they are capable of helping run a state.

wow

e: lmfao HuffPost

it's like Fox News for liberals

I just hope the republicans don't nominate Palin. Ugh but this is why Obama did health care and what-not in his first two years.

According to history he'll still be reelected though.

If they nominate Palin Dems win. I have more faith in voters than that. She single handedly dragged McCain's campaign into a ditch and shot it. O'Donnell and Angle lost for a reason.

Please don't insult US Americans like that. Just because your opinions are different from others' doesn't make them any less valuable.

I'm with Rubix on this. If these Tea Partiers are getting elected, that means there are enough people out there that are crazy enough to vote for them.

I'm pretty interested to see if Obama is going to push anything through in this lame duck session. I'll be pretty disappointed if nothing gets done, because I highly doubt anything else will get done over the next two years.

Politics in this country disgust me.

I have to agree with Rubix on this one.

Give the republicans 8 years to mess **** up, and expect the Democrats to fix it in 2. Then when the dems can't fix it in two, give the republicans another chance.

It just surprises me how such stupidity seems to make it so far. The fact that anyone would ever take anything the Tea Party says seriously is just... I can't even comprehend it. If you listen to the interviews/debates/etc, it's jaw-dropping.

It's pretty much this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0YOh-rpvjYg

At the very least, I am so anxious to see how Colbert is going to handle this one.

According to history he probably won't because he's a president during terrible economic times. I would be terrified if Tea Partiers were running my country. Going to be interesting to watch.

I didn't say anything about me believing Obama will be reelected. I was just stating that the last 3 times this happened, (the opposite party taking the House), the current president of the time was re-elected.

As I said in a different thread, the results probably reflect the opinions of your parents and grandparents (i.e. seniors) moreso than the younger population (see thread on voter apathy).

Also, I saw this coming a mile away...NO ONE is satisfied during hard economic times; hence, they'll pull no stops for Obama. Bad timing for sure. I'm not excusing him for everything, but I'm just saying that the swaying to the other party was predictable just as much as it is stupid.

the hard part of that argument, however, is that obama was closer to fdr's position than hoover's
obama was elected on not being of the same party as the guys who let the economic collapse happen
the EXTREMELY ****ING MAJOR issue is that this time around, party hostility was higher than ever, so unlike roosevelt's first term in which he got to push a lot of stuff out in a short amount of time, obama's first term ended up at a standstill
if he manages to pull a bill clinton and actually finds a way to do battle/compromise with the republican party, he'll get his second term. if not, well, let's hope the gop ignores pop issues (everyone should have a good idea what i mean by this) and picks someone who has sane economic plans

also the blatant liberalism displayed in this thread is disgusting and all of you should feel like idiots for that
