Default Stepmania SSC (reposted from KBO)

This is a fork of Stepmania designed for people like us. It's the best thing to happen to SM since solo. I cried a tear of Stepmanly beauty after using the default theme. It's gorgeous. It's... logical. I want to put my dick in it. I want it to put its dick in me.

Download it here: http://code.google.com/p/sm-ssc/ (If you notice ANYTHING wrong or unintuitive with the theme, post it here because the devs may see it.)

If you're wondering how to set speedmods, it's as simple as opening the "SpeedMods.txt" file in the "Data" folder.

The most revolutionary change in SM SSC is the ability to play with seven keys under the "keyboard 7" mode. The default layout is ASD - space - JKL, but there are other layouts possible. For files in general, check out the KBO KB7 files forum. One pack for KB7 has already been made--the KB7 IIDX Classics pack.

SM SSC is unlike anything we've seen before because it makes a lot of features we've wanted since the beginning the default. For example, SM SSC has implemented a number of features that make cheating or BSing extremely difficult if not outright impossible for the vast majority of people who will play the game.

I strongly encourage you to download this new version. I don't think it's hyperbole to say that SSC is the future of Stepmania.

I see no pictures to help me make these judgements.

As an OpenITG user and ITG player, would this interest me? Is it superior as a 4-column program, or is it simply better for alternative uses?

something stepmania related that's not retarded for once, coul. just kidding, stepmania is cool, but not really. either way this is definitely a huge move in the right direction for stepmania. it's been pretty bland in the past few years and this may spark interest in the game again but not if it doesn't get a whole lot of iNtErNeT publicity. I haven't had a problem with it at all, but I know a lot of butthurt ffr members are going to go all, "nope, kevin bacon wasn't in footloose", but you should definitely give it chance.
tl;dr cool.

Not exactly the most intuitive program. Someone should really write a complete and decent guide for this.

EDIT: Where the **** is the data folder for mac?

The only thing i don't like about the editor is that i have to always go back to the beginning to hear the assist tick on sync with the notes. When i start from a different section, the assist ticks goes off-sync for no reason.

I just get weird message errors whenever someone joins a room like some line is missing in the metrics. Oh well maybe I should reinstall.

Really? Which version of sm-ssc are you using Kommi? (I'm assuming the final build)

Maybe i have an outdated version of sm-ssc's final build. I should probably consider re-downloading it.

This was a problem in different types of 4.0 builds, including my build of PIU: Pro.

not sure if srs

3.9 has minimal simfiling capability, if you use 3.95/4.0/sm-ssc, you'll play anything from 3.9 fine.

Does anyone know why my left note is halfway off the screen? Even when I try to resize, it just stays halfway off.

I'm on mac if that somehow makes a difference.
