Forum Optimizations
I made some optimizations to the VBulletin code that handles how the forums are displayed. Everything should be loading a fair bit more quickly now. Let me know if you run into any issues on the forums.

I have a little more respect for you now aperson. Not that my respect should have any impact on you whatsoever, I just wanted to let you know.

Re: Forum Optimizations
I agree - the most noticeable improvement is the time it takes for a post to appear on the page; you don't have to wait 5+ seconds for the post to show up in the thread, it shows up immediately.

Re: Forum Optimizations
A lot of the queries that retrieve the latest updated posts, like the queries to display the last post on each forum in the index, were running really slowly because MySQL's query optimizer was fudging around and choosing the wrong index a lot of the time. I set all of those queries to be forced to use the right index and it turned all of these queries that have about a 0.5s average time to a 0.005s average time.

Click on person's name --> FFR profile
No more stupid forum profiles as the first option . Who uses those anyway?

Re: Forum Optimizations
Testing...
Edit: The difference for me is quite minor, but I can tell that it has improved. Nice job AP

Re: Forum Optimizations
It looks like a lot of the slowness now is caused by profile queries.
Off to tidy up profiles~~~
