Red face Requesting Someone Step My Work. (Chiptune-esque/DnB)

I figure it's worth a shot, yeah?

Breakcore track with some chippy-sounding waves.

Progressive chippy track, this time with a simple kick and snare.

DnB track. I, personally, enjoy 1:51-on.

Needs more variation.
No matter how you do it, the files for the first and third songs would be 99% just stepping the drum loops and would be pretty boring. Not very much variation in the basslines either.

Second song has a little promise but those trill sections would be pretty hilarious (read: rejected) if you stepped it as trills, would have to use spins or something. Drum stands out way too much in the mix, needs to be brought back a little IMO. Song reminds me of all the shitty Guitar Hero custom songs (Zoidberg the Cowboy rofl) that people made literally just to have hard files for.

To be fair Zoidberg the Cowboy holds a special place in my heart

There's nothing wrong with that kind of song (every one of Kommisar's Stepmania/pad dump songs got very well known, for example) but if you want to do that, try talking with an experienced stepper or becoming one yourself so you know what is interesting to step.

If you're not making songs specifically to be stepped, then just keep doing your thing. You've got the right idea, I think with just practice your songs will naturally get more varied and steppable.

idk my 2c

I understand you, completely. I've never worked on a song with having them stepped in mind. I just figured I'd see if it could be done. Just a thought at 4am lol.

this is generally a bad idea because you end up with stuff that's turbo-gay (like GH custom songs)

I like listening to a lot of the GH-made songs.

second song seems really nice, but it kinda drags after a while, I think especially if you step it it just becomes boring after 1:30 minute
