That way works fine, but there are two tabs on the yellow and blue pads that pull-out and work much better.

Re: RockBand. More Awesome.
In the single player tour there are actually two tours. The first is a normal tour with a 5 song setlist and continuing on. The other tour is more like the "encore" songs from Guitar Hero.
This game is freaking godly though. Of the 58 songs on the main list only 7 aren't master tracks. That's right. 51 tracks are. Not counting the bonus songs or the downloadable content.. Speaking of downloadable content.. Hey Afro: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_songs_in_Rock_Band Quote from the actual link: How did you guys decide on the bands and songs that made it into Rock Band? Dan Teasdale: At the start of the project, we created our dream list of bands. We had a list of about 2000 or 3000 songs that we whittled down into a list of 200 or 300 songs, and then we went out and tried to get all of those songs. We had an amazing response, and all of the labels were really, really responsive as to some of the bands that we could get. We were able to get The Who, which we never were able to get before, we were able to get the whole of “Nevermind” from Nirvana, which was way beyond our expectations and is incredibly awesome. In terms of the thought process behind it, we wanted to get the whole spectrum of rock, from the 1960s to today, essentially. Cream yourself... now. By the by... Green Grass and High Tides will kick people's asses on Guitar. It's pretty freaking intense on the solos. And I consider myself good on Expert (didn't pass Jordan or Six though. Sadface), and though I did well on most songs, Ballroom Blitz and Dead on Arrival (Sweet and Fallout Boy) taught me the meaning of humility with their chords. Got better on Ballroom Blitz, but still crap on Dead on Arrival. Also: There was no topic because everyone who has it is playing it. Personally, I caused pain in my thumb so.. I'm taking it easy for a few. Bah! I keep forgetting crap. There is a difference between the GH controllers while playing Rock Band. When you have the Rock Band controller during the solos, you do not have to strum at all if you play on the bottom Frets. Last edited by Telvanni_guard; 11-23-2007 at 08:42 AM.. |

And has anyone heard any news about drivers for these controllers for computer? I'm sure that SOMEONE with the knowledge is working on it. EDIT: one more thing: did anyone find it HILARIOUS that they used Dead on Arrival rather than a newer song? That song is on the album Take This to Your Grave-- it is on Fueled By Ramen records. This album came out before their mainstream success with From Under the Cork Tree. Seriously, if FFR was ever to get permission to use a song by Fallout Boy, it would be off of this album. You think they cheaped-out and went to Fueled By Ramen instead of Island for their newest album? On top of this, if they were going to use a song off of Take This to Your Grave, WHY DIDN'T THEY USE GRAND THEFT AUTUMN

Just going on the single player and not on the co-op, subtracting battles there are:
39 songs on Guitar Hero. 39+24 bonus songs = 63 songs total (including the bonus ones) 19 are not master tracks. Meaning: 44 are master tracks. Total Master tracks excluding the bonus songs: 21 Total Bonus song master tracks: 23 Last edited by Telvanni_guard; 11-23-2007 at 09:44 AM.. |

Re: RockBand. More Awesome.
what the **** dude
I just played Green Grass and High Tides and not only was the drum part ****ing stupid and long as hell, but the ****ing guitar was like doing that bull**** where certain instruments in a piece are like playing on a different time scale or something and like the whole time and it seemed to keep switching beats on the drums and on top of this, it seemed the BPM for it was nowhere near as consistent as it should have been to be having all that **** going on seriously, the whole ****ing song was the same easy pattern over and over but because **** kept changing i couldn't keep the beat worth a ****. Literally first song I'd failed since beginning play on single player mode on drums. I can't even imagine how ****ty this must be on the higher difficulties >

Re: RockBand. More Awesome.
I think I figured out the issue with fast drumming on the pads. The faster it is, the more strict the timing is. Makes sense. It's like the avmiss issue on FFR, except it's not an issue, though it does make things pretty difficult. I'm seriously fearing having to play Run to the Hills on solo tour. By the way, I'm getting a knack for the drums. Seriously. A couple of my friends and I played all day today. We passed Won't Get Fooled Again without having to abuse overdrive all that much, and I think it was the third time I played it. For me, at least, the learning curve on drums is really sharp. Quote:
This game rules so hard. I do like the RB guitar, but I'm better with GH guitars, and I don't think I'll need the solo fret buttons in order to 5* Green Grass and High Tides. I really want the WAHHHHHHWAHHHHHHHHWAHHHHHHHH sound during overdrive though, so I'm torn. :< edit: Oh, just so I can update later, in case anyone cares: I'm on the third set of songs in the Expert solo tour on drums. edit2: Finished the fourth set of songs. I haven't had to play a song more than twice to 5* it yet. Now, don't just assume it's all really easy - I honestly think I'm just pretty good at this. Regardless, all of it is fun as hell. Re: RockBand. More Awesome.
Questions about the 5-way switch: Does the switch overwrite the effects used by the recording guitarist? Similarly, does the "off" option turn off any effects used by the recording guitarist? Does the switch only activate during overdrive or is it always in use?

Yes, it does override the effects in the song itself. The off option leaves on any effects in the recording of the song. The switch only activates during overdrive. |

Nah. I didn't forget them. I said at the top "not including".
By the by Afro. Green Grass and High Tides does constantly switch the BPM. You can notice it specifically on the Guitar Solo on Expert. 3,2,1,3,2,1,3,2,1. It'll slow down for a few moments, then speed up again. Can throw off your timing. |

Re: RockBand. More Awesome.
Failed Green Grass and High Tides on guitar, but it was at the VERY end, so we still passed. Really fun, though, and really easy if you abuse star power. Even easier if you use the rock band guitar, probably.

Re: RockBand. More Awesome.
Our bass pedal snapped. Granted, I played quite a bit, and Expert is just FULL of bass pedal crap. I probably was hitting it too hard for a while, but it just shouldn't happen in a matter of a few days. It's a good thing the bass pedal is just an attachment to the drums themselves - they'll definitely have to release one with sturdier material. Oh, and it kinda took itself apart when I tried to keep playing during the song. The construction is ****ing terrible. My friend held it up right after we passed the song (we were at the very end and I was still hitting the pads), probed it, and just said, "WHERE IS THE TECHNOLOGIES?" He went and got a whole new Rock Band package using the warranty when he went to buy UT3.
So yeah, there are some issues with durability. Over time, they'll probably just mix in more reliable controllers with new releases and updated peripherals. A mass recall would probably be too expensive. I hear there's also a problem with the Rock Band guitar's strum bar that a patch failed to fix. The game itself is still 100% awesome. However, any delays in acquiring the game for whatever reason might not be such a bad thing. There are kinks to work out, and those of us who have already paid for it might lose money in the process. |

Re: RockBand. More Awesome.
oh my god, i just played rock band for the first time yesterday...and played for about 7 hours....wow, it is SO damn fun.
No guitar hero experience, so i barely got to playing songs on "Hard" difficulty. Pretty good at drums, but i like guitar best. |
