within life
4: i like the rolls you put in 5: ditto, although more diverse patterns. i like it. however, i dont find that the final longer roll fits in with the difficulty of the song. a bit easier would have been perfect! 9: my favorite. nice cut in the middle of the song, keeping the more intense bits.

Re: First Official FFR StepCon
What happened with Still Blastin' 9, The notes look good but the steps are out of sync with the song? Couldn't fix that for the poor guy? Looks like the delay was off at the beginning for some reason.
Good files everyone. |

Re: First Official FFR StepCon
The offset is correct on it, I even just checked it now. It was stepped off and there's nothing we can do about that.

Re: First Official FFR StepCon
Oh, almost forgot.
A few notes about some of the files: - Within Life 4: my favorite of the group; great pattern choices and the file just feels fun and rewarding to hit certain elements - very worthy of a good rating in my eyes. - Within Life 5: a close second, again, patterns were relatively enjoyable. The ending rolls were somewhat of a turnoff to me, though. - Blackout 3: My favorite of the group. There were some interesting breaks in the streams that bridged the chorus/verse that became slightly distracting; however, I like the fluency in patterns and there is noticeable relevancy throughout the file. |

Just played it on Offset -14, and it was perfect. So I have no idea what you're talking about o.0 |

May as well say what my top faves were in the groups.
Blackout 3 1 Then honestly it's like there's 3 that I like a lot and can't really choose one from haha 5,6,8 are all just as worthy imo. The group for Blackout did really well overall I think.' Within Life 4 5 9 - I like the chart for this but the cut killed it a little for me. Still Blastin' 10 1 8 In the sm that was given out the offset was already set so that all that needed to be done was stepping. This file was stepped incorrectly, there's nothing wrong with the offset. (Hint: It shouldn't be starting with blue arrows, they should be red) |

Re: First Official FFR StepCon
Just played every Blackout and Within Life file :
Blackout 1 Very solid chart. Probably from a fairly good stepauthor. Not a big fan of jumps followed by a jack sequence... I'll give it a 8/10. Blackout 2 Interesting take on the file. Very jacky, but fun at the same time. Just watch out for those long jack parts, I'm not sure if it was the best you could have done. 7/10 Blackout 3 Damn, another good chart! This time, much easier, but shared some elements from B1 and B2. Has pretty much the perfect difficulty for the song. So... 8/10 Blackout 4 Felt a little bit short, but still, pretty well stepped. 7/10 Blackout 5 Very similar to Blackout 1 (if my memory is good xD). Just watch out for any repeating patterns. 8/10 Blackout 6 Well it's WAY better synced. Now, it's not perfect, but it's a good file. 7/10 Blackout 7 Well, I can't see some mistakes here and there (if I remember at 240 combo, just feels awkward). Imo, you overused hands at some point. The rest is correct, but doesn't stand out from the group. 6/10 Blackout 8 Good, easy, short. In the end, was a little boring. Could be a good file is judges are searching for a very easy one. Still 6/10 Blackout 9 Another good chart, pretty similar to the first I've played. 7/10 Blackout 10 Not the best in the bunch. There's some inconsistencies, some difficulty spikes near the end. Not really my favourite. 5/10 Within Life 1 A little on the heavy side. Was good, althought I would have liked more diversity on the bursts. 7/10 Within Life 2 Most patterns were out of place. Need to be reworked. 4/10 Within Life 3 You sure like 1-4 jumps. They're everywhere. It's a very unique file, but sadly, lacking a little bit of diversity in the patterns. 6/10 Within Life 4 Rolls. There was too much of them, a little bit too much. The rest was actually pretty nice. Just remove some rolls and you got a nice chart. 7/10 Within Life 5 Suffers from the same problem mentioned in WL4, althought this one was a little more fun. 8/10 Within Life 6 Part near 350 combo really need to be fixed... Ugh. Other than that, it was short and sweet. 7/10 Within Life 7 Was pretty good. Some bursts could be a little bit easier. The file has a great diversity. 7/10 Within Life 8 Probably the hardest one in the group. Not the best, not my favorite either. Some bursts were a little too tought for the song. 6/10 Within Life 9 Was a pretty cool file. Probably one of my favorites. 8/10 Within Life 10 The chorus part was pretty weird. 6/10 I think the first place is gonna be tight in those two groups... EDIT : I'll probably do the same thing for Still Blastin once the winners are announced.

Re: First Official FFR StepCon
Blackout 1- too long
Blackout 2- too many jacks Blackout 3- best one Blackout 4- has the most unique cut and chart is decent Blackout 5- flows well, fun to play felt like it was a tad too long Blackout 6- pretty colorful and well done Blackout 7- too many jacks and missed red notes during jacks on purpose, not sure why you'd do that Blackout 8- ffr does need easier charts, and this one is really good. Blackout 9- too many jacks Blackout 10- did not like I'd say if any got in it should be 3, 4, 5, 6, or 8, leaning more towards 3 or 8.

Re: First Official FFR StepCon
I can fix that. =)
...Apologies in advance for length and harshness. I'll do Within Life later. Blackout is my group so that's gonna have to wait until after the winners are announced. I will say I was pretty surprised by how good this group was. Really tough competition for a song I honestly thought was going to have a lot of generic files. |

Re: First Official FFR StepCon
The whole thing was about your file and stepping. You also broke a very simple rule I set out when releasing the files so that everyone could try them out. Don't make me have to pull them down because you're upset and ruin it for everyone else. Send a private message when you have a problem.
