Re: Dubstep Minipack Released!
Stepping for Pad and Keyboard has changed throughout the years and mines just happens to be one of the new ways that can express and accent certain things in songs. They are not only for scoring factor, like everybody likes to assume. Hell, almost every file I step now has mines in them.
I find that as long as mine placements don't obscure patterns and disrupt the overall flow of a chart, the usage is perfectly fine and reasonable (e.g. 64th mine placements, or dense mine fields for no apparent reason don't sit well with me). As for playing with mines on or off, certain files call for mines being turned on otherwise you don't get the full -intended- effect that mines are supposed to contribute to a song. Otherwise, no one really cares whether you turn them on or off most of the time. Mine business being said, downloading and playing possibly this weekend if not late next week when exams are finally over.

Re: Dubstep Minipack Released!
@Gundam-Dude: I'm not completely bashing mines. I know what you mean. For example, I know people places mines after staccato notes or in a space that there would seem to be a sound but then isn't. I actually used a lot of mines in my Jumpsuit Adventures VIP file I made for the Dumpstep pack that's in progress. I was just stating an opinion that there were too many mines for my taste, since I find it hard to distinguish notes and mines when there's a lot going on. It might just be the noteskin I'm using, but also I might not be used to it.
I don't mind mines in general, I actually love cetaka's files. He tends to use them in the way I posted above.

Re: Dubstep Minipack Released!
AWW **** shit I didn't get to finish my second borgore file in time :C
Oh well, when the next pack starts expect a file for this from me. And maybe some other stuff if it ever gets finished fgfblifliflvkflbkflkflgkfl Kill E'rrybody has errors that i meant to fix and also difficulty spikes (coul 48ths br0) but is overall fun Scatta solo is sick as fuc Alejandro is probably one of my favorite kommi files ever (that part with the mines when the robot voice says skrillex <3) Rock 'n' Roll is a pretty fun file Scatta is one of my all time favorite files because I'm gay as hell for Foreign Beggars and colornote Vocals Broken Rulz is areally good file in my unbiased opinion B] 3 Fist Style didn't really speak to me but oh well Magnum is a good file, esp for a Samurai file holy shit Saturday Night is easily top 3 material Reploid is cool ^5 choof Stepfile This is 24th strem. Not much to say about it but it's WC so I'm obligated to like it but hey, samurai, unless torrent fixed it in the pack release, ALL of your files had very obviously incorrect offsets. I recommend you use DDReam to at the very least set your offset properly. Otherwise, you're really starting to make better files :') Cool pack, bad managing (both choof and I lmao), hopefully the next one will be a lot better WITH LESS SKRILLEX HOLY **** Last edited by t-rogdor; 04-12-2011 at 06:43 PM.. |

Re: Dubstep Minipack Released!
Dumpstep pack? Haha
I reeeally enjoy Samurai's files. Detrimentalist is sorta close behind... and others are eh mostly because of my personal tase of mines. But nice pack overall
