Re: For Final Fantasy Fans!
I pretty much despised 12. The story lost me so many times and what I got of it was terrible, and the battles got incredibly monotonous. 10 was good, X-2 was insanely easy to the point where it wasn't even fun anymore. 3 was pretty good, I liked 4 even more, though I've yet to beat either of the two. One day I should get around to some of these other popular ones, but I pretty much favored 10 out of the ones I've played.

Re: For Final Fantasy Fans!
I didn't even put myself halfway through X-2 before I stopped playing...game was way too linear
3 and 10 are my personal favorites, although I still have 12 sitting in my room with the plastic wrap on, so I don't know if that one's any good hahaha never played the original, oddly enough |

I never mention FF X2 usually because, I just didn't have a feel for it.
The dress sphere system was unique, really liked Payne too, but that was about it. Oh Vegnagun was badass

Re: For Final Fantasy Fans!
10 was definitely my favorite. I have played and beaten 1-12 excluding 11. 10's story was the best and gameplay was good. I liked the sphere grid system as it allowed everyone to learn different or the same things.

and that would be why you didn't have to play it? Except for maybe once in the story. Yeah im going to have to go with 7, 3, 6, 10 probably. Never finished 12 but i actually thought the gameplay was quite fun even though it was very different, and 13 looks awesome. |

Re: For Final Fantasy Fans!
I never played almost any of these games when they first came out (I wasnt into RPGs) but over the last year I've played FF1 PSP, FF3 DS, FF7 PSX, and FFX PS2.
While it is overrated, if you take the game for what it is FF7 is amazing. It's the 2nd best PS1 games I've put in my system (Metal Gear Solid still owns a place in my heart, guys.) I enjoyed the storyline and was surprised that half of it wasnt spoiled for me (I figured after Aeris' ordeal there would be level grinding and a boss fight). On the other hand, I liked the ranking system and battles in FFX just a wee bit more. I'll have to recommend 7 to most people but I think FFX did alot of things better. FF3 sucked IMO. I'm considering getting FF6 for the Psx tho. |

Re: For Final Fantasy Fans!
I liked 7, 8 & 5, 6 was okay, 1 was fun and I really enjoyed 10, 10-2 and 12. I think I enjoyed 10-2 the most, mainly for the battle system and the lighter mood.

Re: For Final Fantasy Fans!
I never completed 8 on my own, partly because I find the game incredibly boring for some reason. 9 is totally worth completing, especially if you do some of the late side quests for stuff which is fun.

Re: For Final Fantasy Fans!
People who don't like FF7 are just people who has to go against the mainstream to stand out, for no apparent reason.
7 was the best, then comes 10. 7 simply was their best game, most people know it, and they know it themselves. Call it whatever you want to, it's still the best. Period.

Re: For Final Fantasy Fans!
Disagree. I dont think most people agasint 7 are agaisnt the game so much as they are agasint raving fanboys. And possibly they didnt like the story. Think about it, "Best Story" depends on taste and not everone cares for Cloud vs Sephiroth.

Re: For Final Fantasy Fans!
To be fair, the story of FF7, however interesting, was a bit convoluted. Few people seem to actually understand the whole thing -- that's a bit of a problem, haha. I personally enjoyed it, but other FF's had more structured stories that were easier to catch on to.
I still think FFVI > FFVII when it comes to overall ranking, though. It does everything just a bit better.

Re: For Final Fantasy Fans!
I'll have to say that out of all of them, considering both story and gameplay, I think I enjoyed X the most. I've considered playing through it again just to have a shot against the superboss, and experiencing for all those cutscenes and shizzle.

I'm obsessed with FF7 and the Cloud vs Sephiroth controversy being the greatest rivalry in the series is a crock of ****. You could see it coming from early on in the game, Cloud idolized him and was going to pwn him easily. Proof of this is the 1 on 1 final battle where you instantly cast Omnislash and game is over. How boring, all that controversy for a fight that never really happens.

Re: For Final Fantasy Fans!
IMO, FF8 has to be one of the worst Final Fantasys ever made. Who cares about some school kid? Like come on. As for FF7, it's characters are not school kids. Cloud, for example, is an ex-soldier. Other characters in FF7 make the game even more awesome then it has to be.
