So I was searching around for iPod Apps and I came across Tap Studio 3. Very interesting take on the TapTap Revenge series -in this game you can actually make your own files from songs in your library. The process is surprisingly really easy, and takes about as much time as listening to the song (provided you don't make any edits, which you can do through the in-game editor).

It has a Tap Vault feature where you can upload the files you have made and share them with the world. Apparently theres like 170,000 songs already on this thing, which is pretty crazy if you ask me.

So basically this is the closest thing to Stepmania that I could find on my iPod in terms of userbase and customization. Anyone have it? Do those that do have it have any crazy hard files that they would like to share? I've already uploaded one and plan on making more. Not sure if this is an Android app, so if you have an Android, you might wanna look for it...

EDIT: Oh...wait there's a catch. Turns out in order to play the songs made by other people from the Tap Vault, you have to have the matching file on your iPod. Bleh.

Yes, I've tried this (Tap Studio 3), and the editing mode sucks. You basically create your "tapcharts" by tapping as the song plays along. There's no quantization, 4th beat snap or anything like that. Imagine making FFR songs the old way, when Synth actually pressed arrows as the song progressed, resulting in slight inconsistencies. It's like that. Sure you can go back to a certain portion of the song and correct these errors, but there's no bar measures, and the editing is entirely manual in regards to syncing. In essence, I find making your own songs a pain. The concept is pretty nifty, but if you want clean-looking "tapcharts", you'll have to work very hard to sync each tap.
