how well do you recognize pitches?

There's a thread about colors so why not make one about sounds (o:

The test consists of 40 pure tones and 40 piano tones.
Each time a tone is played, you have three seconds to choose its pitch by clicking on the corresponding piano key.

36 - 36 is the perfect score.

I agree with the chart - either you can do this, or you can't. As for me, I can't. Not even gonna bother doing the full test.

Wow I fail at this so hard

It would probably be easier if I had some sort of musical background. I don't have the auditory memory for what the "letters" should sound like. then again my aural comprehension blows compared to my visual.

you dont really fail though

you either have perfect pitch or you dont and if you dont youre not gonna recognize shit unless youve had years of relative pitch training which will only get you so far. thats why the results are either at the bottom or at the top and theres pretty much no one in the middle

i consider it a failure because i make music, and thought that would increase my chances of scoring high
