Ranged people have been so spoiled in WLK, there's hardly anything they have to do besides maximize their DPS rotation. And since every pug will fall apart after 4 wipes anyway, it's impossible to try to teach baddies how to move from shadow crash.

Who cares about resizing!

I took about 50 pictures, but when I was looking through them, I realized this was the only one that didn't have the people on the flying drakes blocking each other. Also, MS Paint quick edit!

As a raid leader I'd rather see him spending money on things like the ToC craftables than epic flying...

As long as you can GET to my raid, I'm happy (the "summon me up to Naxx plz" thing gets old fast). Reg flying and cold weather, and you are all set- epic is a luxury.

He made the same argument with us. He much rather save his money for better gear than epic flying although we all offered to chip in for the artisan training.

I eventually convinced him not to buy the Dalaran ring, and he ended up buying epic flight.

It's a garbage ring anyway, even if you're still using 213 rings (which he is). Rings are not that great of a DPS buff anyway. Not to mention, he's going to buy a 245 and the raids we do have a chance of dropping another, better ring.

9000 gold for a ring... why would you even consider it?

I am an achievement whore and I still never even considered buying that ring. It's not worth it.

One of these days. Gold isn't that difficult to get, just a little time consuming.

I don't like blood elves. They're Blizz's attempt to get more Horde players, but it brought dumb elf-lovers to the Horde. People who otherwise would have seen the four races and gone "ew the horde is ugly". You know, ten year olds.

I'm so glad the alliance gets Worgen. Otherwise, we'd be littered with even more trash.

ANYWAY, I failed to mention this, so I will now.

Riding on our emotional high from doing hard mode Ulduar, we decided it was finally time to down OS103D. Took us two tries. The first try was a "learn where to stand" try. The second try was bad, but he died.

We weren't done yet. Tsugo suggested we go for the timed Malygos achievement (http://www.wowhead.com/?achievement=1874). We all flew there (on our 310% mounts <3) and found out one person couldn't go because of bedtime or something. Another person said "if you don't find a replacement in three minutes, it'll be too late for me to put tries into this". Since we couldn't, we were left with 8. That's when I said "well, then let's do the 8-man Maly achievement instead" (http://www.wowhead.com/?achievement=1869).

I think everybody but the raid leader / tank had the idea in mind of doing a 6-minute kill on top of missing two people. He kept yelling at us for not taking our time and pulling aggro on the Nexus Lords and stuff. We quietly fake-apologized and kept trying to nuke it as fast as possible because we knew EOE runs were just so rare. Tsugo solo-healed the entire fight, since it was the same group that did OS103D, just minus two DPS.

Long story short, we did it. I explained to our raid leader that, in our minds, just having the 8-man Maly achievement wasn't enough. The best part about it was being able to show that we got both achievements at the same time, like how I got "Besting the Black Dragonflight" and "Less is More" (SHOULD BE FEWER, BLIZZ) on my first kill for Sarth 25, or how Tsugo's hunter friend from his old guild got Three Lights, Two Lights, One Light, Drive me Crazy, The Descent into Madness, Secrets of Ulduar, and Glory of the Ulduar Raider (and Kiss and Make Up) when we did Yogg+1. That is to say, he had never done Yogg on normal mode. Also, he was in the brain room, which he had obviously never done before either.

This guy's an amazing player for sure. His pet tanks BC raids. He just needs to get a damn microphone. Buy him one for his birthday, Tsugo.

so I'm considering getting back into this game on a friend's server.

That would mean a server and a faction transfer. Which I'm totally down for, only thing is I don't know which race to go for.

I've never raided horde, so I don't know any racials.

Which would be best for a mage?

oh and squeek I find it funny that you're still doing achievements I did back when I was active in t7, but after you've done Ulduar.

I still have my of the Nightfall title from my 3 drake zerg from back in the day(5 months ago when I was actively playing)

For Mages, blood elves have the best racials, but nobody likes blood elves. Undead have the best racials for pvp and trolls are the coolest ones to play with a mix of pve and pvp racials.

Also, I talked to some of the guilds that did Sarth3D before Ulduar and asked them how they used to do it, even went on some failed attempts with them. The answer among all of them was unanimous: everybody got nerfed before Ulduar. There were tricks you could do on Sarth back then that don't work now (such as 90k voidwalker tanks). You literally must have at least 40,000 raid DPS to do it now.

Tokzic even told me when he did it that the group he went in was 9/10 Melee (the last one being the healer). Well, we don't have that many melee in our guild, and I'm not a melee class anyway, so even back then, I couldn't have gotten the achievement. Not to mention that we're not a 25-man raiding guild. We only do 10-man content. Therefore, our gear is never that good.

I went once with a group that had done it before 3.1. The average raid DPS was 5,000+ each. He didn't die.

Um before Ulduar came out that was a pretty big deal. We were one of I think 3 raid groups on our server that managed to do it after about 7 hours worth of attempts.

On the run we finally got it I was pushing over 1k dps higher than the person behind me because I was so pumped.

Also, thanks for the input squeek. Is there anything in particular that makes blood elves better than anything else while raiding?

Personally, I don't care that much what my character looks like, I just love having good racials.
