Should the bomber of Pan Am Flight 103 have been released??
I've been watching the news a lot lately. The main thing mentioned is how they released the bomber of Pan Am Flight 103. I am disgusted that he was released after all of the innocent lives he took and I'm also disgusted by the fact that he was welcomed with a welcome home type of out roar. I think he should have gotten the death penalty. I want your opinion. Do you think the bomber of Pan Am Flight 103 should have been released or kept incarcerated?? Do you think he should have got the the death penalty or do you think life in prison without the possibility of parole was enough?? I want your opinion and make it a thoughtful one because this is a serious subject.

Re: Should the bomber of Flight 188 have been released??
Link? I haven't heard of the incident, and neither has the internet apparently...google found old 1950's bombers plane and someone bitching about flight 188 being cancelled, and some other minor complaint about an air india flight 188.

nice poll man
no matter what answer, you wanna make sure this guy suffers. i wonder where's the critical thinking here, i just see your meaningless complaint against a decision you have no information on and no reason to deliberate about. |

I am so sorry for the confusion I wasn't aware of the name of the flight I think I fixed the kinks in this thread.

Edit: they released him to go home because he has less than 3 months to live of terminal cancer. Not really going to object to even a murderer spending his last few months of life in his home country with his family.

The details for deliberation are on the internet. read the story of Pan Am Flight 103 on the internet and you'll see where I'm coming from.

it was a revenge attack for the shooting down of a civilian Iranian airliner by a US warship six months before, which resulted in 290 deaths, including 66 children.

Re: Should the bomber of Flight 188 have been released??
it's giving more than he gave his victims. I know that view is slightly 'eye for an eye' but I don't see why he should get the comfort of his own country and home, even in death. His family could have seen him in prison, that's more than most people would want him to have - his sentence should have stuck, how is it a punishment if you get to live your last few months in luxury at home?

Re: Should the bomber of Flight 188 have been released??
It's odd that he still says he's innocent, seeing as it doesn't matter anymore. I think a lot of Libyans think he's innocent too, or else why would they be cheering for him? Perhaps his release was made because someone somewhere who holds sway believes he actually is.
