2013
Sup community.
I currently am being driven to my aunt's place, where all my family from all of Quebec is meeting up to celebrate the end and birth of another year. Writing at turtle pace on Android makes me realize how random this holiday is. It's so arbitrary! But anyway. I dunno how everyone on here celebrate this day, or if they even do. But over here it's basically thanksgiving (I guess) which apparently doesn't exist rofl. We just wait for the exact momen the shift occurs, and then we try to be grateful to each others for everything that happened in the past year, and formulated new personnal wishes for the upcoming one. It maybe is no different in the rest of the world, but regardless, I'd like to take a very brief moment. Thank you FFR, for everything you've given to me and to hundreds of others music/gaming/art/whatever enthusiasts over the past year. Thank you community, for the countless nice things I got to benefit of. My Europe trip with the one week Swedish experience with Isaac, my meetups with Sanzath, the tons of internet friends I made, the tons of laughs I had, the tons of things I learned. Thank you everyone and everything! /manlytears /slitswristsinjoy I can only wish the FFR-everything can go on, and keep getting better and better. It sure has a ton of flaws, but without them imo, FFR wouldn't be the same thing. Like being parents and having no teenage crisis going on, doesn't work as good. So looking at it from the overall, I love FFR as it is. I hope it's gonna stay around. For a while. For a damn good while. And since I feel good today, I'm gonna add this: I wish the very same thing to each and every ones of you! I luv y'all. That's about it. Oh wait, no it isn't, but I just arrived at my aunt's. Maybe you guys can fill the rest? What do you feel about FFR 2012? And what do you wish for FFR 2013? Counting on you guys. And remember! - Don't drink/dope and drive. - Stay pure fucking metal. Hateandhatred out. Happy new year!

Re: 2013
New years isn't arbitrary.
At one point it was a celebration that the sun doesn't disappear forever, although that time happens our christmas day now, but the gist of celebrating new things comes from old rituals of celebrating winter solstice which is just a week earlier. Keeping track of time is necessary for communication. The idea of creating a clean slate or starting anew are parts of other ceremonies. Catholic confession comes to mind. New beginnings and whatnot, good for mental health or something. |
